Che in at right back

According to todays Echo Che Wilson is determined to grab the right back spot as his own , with Francis sidelined for possibly 5 weeks and hunt also injuried Wilson says he is the right man for the job.

Now a lot has been said about Wilson in the past but to be fair to the lad he is a right footed player and had played there most of his career,( just imagine Adam Barrett trying to play right back , IMO he would be all over the place) so if he does play right back for a few games then i feel this is how he should be judged .

If he still doesn't cut the mustard then maybe his time as SUFC could be numbered.

Well, with the two candidates ahead of him in the right-back queue out injured, if he doesn't get picked to play right back then it really is curtains, isn't it...?

:thump:

This article in today's echo says "CENTRE BACK CHE WILSON". Are they having a larf? has he ever played Centre Back?

Although not the tallest Cheese is pretty good in the air , and this can only help us as well as to many goals getting conceaded via crosses and set pieces since last year.

Che was almost ever present in our double-promotion winning, record breaking team, a team we'll look back on in years to come with a lot of affection and respect. He always prepares himself properly, gives 110% on the pitch and is a very positive influence in the dressing room. So why does he always get spoken about like a two-bit mug?

Totally wrong in my opinion.....

Because a fair few people don't think he's very good...

I like the bloke, whenever I've spoken to him he's taken the time to chat and he seems a nice, genuine fella. However, he has his limitations on the football pitch and whilst he did a job, he is (as I've said) adequate for this level at best and the alternatives (although both are injured) are better players.

Well said. People have got short memories.

The opposite, I have a good memory of his performances in League Two and One...

He is a nice guy, completely committed and not afraid to get stuck in.

However theres no getting away from the fact he isnt very good. He made far too many mistakes and was clearly our weakest player.

Just because he won two promotions doesnt make him a good player, after all he was ever present in both but the first to be replaced.

Really? All those clean sheets in our championship winning season (and if I recall correctly the best or second best defensive record in the division) had nothing to do with him at all then? Wow.

He's got the best name, I'll give him that. Anyone who can combine a South American revolutionary with Victor Meldrew's alter ego is beyond cool.

I just hope we don't sign Titi Camara.

Maybe that had something to do with the rest of the team carrying him.....

If he was good why did Tilson replace him ?
