CEO Forum Thursday March 13th.

Was a timeline given for the upgrade / redevelopment of the West and North stands?
Not that I remember. The focus seemed very much on the total development of the East as that's where the 365 day a year payback comes from. There are plans to upgrade the facilities at the back of the West bars/food/toilets/covered area etc. which I assume would be over the next couple of years but I don't recall a timeline.

Someone did ask if the East stand could be moved back so the West could be developed with more round the back. I think Tom politely suggested that wasn't possible as then the South & North banks would be off centre.

Has anyone mentioned the container bar being installed the rear of the west stand in time for the Oldham game :Thumbs up:🍻

I wonder if the estimated £20 million for a new stand is based on today's construction prices. Most developments cost more than the estimates when actually built. A lot of money to be found here but hopefully in the long term would pay for itself with decent hospitality etc.

Surprised he was given such a light treatment with regards to the ****show that is the club shop

And I'm sorry but an 8k east stand!? No way we will ever get near to a quarter filling that
That's the spirit.

How can you be so sure? We have the best attendance in the league even when we've been mid-table and have an absolute tin can of a stadium with abysmal/health hazard facilities! Think of all the families that would come to a brand new, fantastic stadia which will boast modern facilities.

I've said this a few times, but having taken a few friends into hospitality, it's truly embarrassing. Yet, it is still full most games. With the catchment area and partnerships with local businesses, the hospitality in the new stand will be a sell out every game. As for the stand being full, the club are, and will, do so many initiatives for younger fans in order to fill it. I don't think it will be a problem.

I think we will get a lot bigger crowds with better facilities

Also. If you saw a nice shiny stand glistening in the sun from the West or South Stand with modern facilities, clean toilets, taps that provided both hot and cold water, decent food outlets and upgraded bars i'd imagine a fair few may well migrate from their season tickets of many a year to experience it.

An increased capacity East Stand would also allow for the gradual upgrade of the other stands (if thats COSUs plan)

The East Stand currently normally sells out the c1700 seats available for ST and general match day sales, not including the DB & Blue seats and not forgetting it is operating on a reduced Health & Safety capacity, so the less than quarter match day sales expectation for a new 8000 cap stand is very questionable especially given the natural attraction to new facilities, better seating and less obstructive views and a well marketed, targeted ticket sales approach.

Exactly this.

Also there are probably a few hundred, like me , who would consider moving over if the facilities in the East provide that improved matchday experience.

I love the view from the South Upper but as Tom said in his answer to me there is precious little that can be done with that section. It's too narrow round the back for the movement of people in the flow management that is required. I "suspect" that also over time HSE regulations have moved on & the South isn't fit for purpose but there is less scope to upgrade than all the other stands.

This is true, however, we have a group of people running the show who can get things down, so even at today's prices with an assumption of circa 5% inflation, this will not be doubling over the 2-3 year period that was discussed. It will totally depend how it is going to be paid for. If the funds are thereabouts, and reliant on planning etc, it should be fairly ok as long as the money is available as needed.

Now, if you are relying on a rat-run project...

For me Hooly the ironic thing about the South is it would do a job as the Away end, similarities to Bradford City (pic). Obviously currently the access doesn't lend itself fit for purpose, although post new East Stand and what infrastructure is in place then, I wonder if it could become a more logistical possibility.

For the North?
Tom did say that the North or the North West Quadrant, presuming that meant Y & Z block area, would be the most likely but would be part of the appraisal towards the East redevelopment. I would imagine that would have some sort of impact on possible capacity numbers. He did also say that safe standing is not a straight bolt on over the existing terracing footprint and would need a revamp of the terracing footprint involved.
