Centenary Ball photos

Some lovely shots :hilarious: Looking at the various pictures on offer I wondered if there is an official site where I can get photos of the players, if you will, in action! I stress - the pictures would be for my son who is seven and not for me. Cheers.

Why? How much were the tickets and what did you expect to get?

Individual tickets for the Ball are still available at £70 +vat per person, or alternatively a table for 8 persons plus an a current or former player and their guest is priced at only £650+vat,.

at that price I would say it was a rip off

They sound quite reasonable to me. (I assume it has taken place unless the official site is in some kind of timewarp?) These black tie do's are never cheap but they do tend to be excellent fun. If anyone went, maybe they can give us a run-down of the menu, entertainment, etc.?

I thought the price was reasonable - the marquee itself was very impressive, and the food was really nice -4 course silver service, Terry Alderton was to there to crack a few jokes (made some comments about Freddy's caravan and the funniest comment was when he asked the first team to stand up, Matt Harrold stood up and Alderton quickly told him to sit down as he could hardly say he played this season!! lol!!). There was some band singing Rat Pack songs and then a DJ was on til 1am.

On the whole, I thought it was a brilliant evening and it looked to me as though everyone had a great night, players included!

So glad to hear the players were enjoying themselves after their recent relegation but I ask, apart from 100 years of the football club and beating Manchester United, what right have they got to celebrate? 'Chatting and mingling with fans'? I want a ****ing apology!!! After the season they have put us through shouldn't they be more concerned with paying reparations to the community? If JCR has got spare time on his hands then shouldn't he be out under the floodlights practising his crossing in time for Wakering away? Lee Bradbury has only scored four goals all season and has put me through hell. The least I expect is maybe a little help with my decorating or perhaps do a few dishes. What would really impress me was if Matt Harrold had the guts after such an abysmal season to sheepishly turn up at my place with some of that new cuprinol stuff to creosote my fence panels. Some people may say my reaction is OTT but that's because I care about the club.

I think that's a bit harsh - I care about the club too and Im gutted that we have been relegated but the players are only human so why shouldn't they have a night out?! Its hardly like they are partying a week before the season starts (its about 7 weeks til the season starts again!)- it was an end of season party, to celebrate 100 years of the team so why shouldn't they get involved and have fun?!

Probably a bit longer to be honest.
Isn't the 1st friendly 14 July?
Presume they report back for pre-season on 5 July?
It was 13 weeks last weekend until the league season starts (11 Aug)

Sorry - its about 7 weeks til they are back in full-time training (well this is what I have heard anyway)

I think it was wise i stayed away from such an event, im staying at home for the next 2 months until my anger at relegation has eased some what.

If they all went into a corner and didn't come out till August you'd be happy would you. This nigh twasn't just for them but the fans too. If they cancelled the centenary ball due to relegation then everyone would be up in arms saying how they've got to respect our support. Life goes on

I totally agree! Yes we got relegated but we are supposed to be 'supporters' so the least we can do is stand by them during bad times! Whats done is done, so lets just move on to worrying about next season!

I was being sarcarstic. If you had read all of my "humourous" post and got to the bit about Matt Harrold and Cuprinol you would/ may have realised this.

Actually I am glad the players had a great time and I hope there was a chocolate fountain to reward them for their efforts this season. Hooray!
