Can't Wirelessly Connect?

Done quite a few swaps from (dreaded) Vista to XP on Dells (I've got the original XP install disks). All worked a treat assuming the Dell Site has the correct the XP drivers (and they do for the Insp 1501).

To be honest you've got a bitch of a problem... Might even be worth a quick re-format and install Vista again from scratch

I'd rather send it back to Dell and know it will come back working!

Cheers anyway mate - your help is greatly appreciated

One last thing (before I open a bottle of booze for the evening), does the 'Wireless Authentication type' setting (open or shared) match the kind of setting on the laptop...

Other could be along later that are maybe more versed with Vista than I (although Southminster seems to know about it )... Dump Vista and revert to XP (or something else)

Should have said this earlier.... disable WEP on the router and the laptop. Reboot both. If it work at least you know what the problem can be
