In some ways, this is the kind of result to expect after beating top of the league. Still, unbeaten under Powell. Roll on Saturday.

The 3 points were there for the taking tonight... and we didn't take them. The best first half performance of the season...I would have settled with a point against Portsmouth if we had taken the 3 points tonight.

3 points required on Saturday now.. UTB!

A fair result in the end. Truthfully neither side looked as if they really wanted to score tonight, mostly because everyone snatched at the chances. No doubt we missed Coxy with his experience. Nevertheless, a good point and no goals conceded.
Bring on Portsmouth and a big crowd at the Hall.

Another point nearer the 52, for all those play off dreamers this is a dose of reality. After the disastrous first 28 games under Brown this season was always about staying up under Powell, if we can finish top half will be a fantastic result

We looked the more threatening. I don't think Ladapo and Harrison covered themself in glory tbf. Neither looked like scoring.

The pitch was hiddeous. Impossible for the ball to run on it. Made for a very long ball game. That said we had opportunities and good possession in the final third.

Could have taken all 3 but probably didn't warrant it.

Improvements needed in the final third if we are to get all 3 points against pompey Saturday.

100% record under SCP gone.:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

POWELL OUT!POWELL OUT!POWELL OUT!POWELL OUT!POWELL OUT!POWELL OUT!POWELL OUT!POWELL OUT!

:winking:

Pretty poor game of football lacking quality between two tired looking sides. Both sides created half chances, but never looked like taking them. Fair result in the end.

I do agree that the pitch was awful and credit to both teams for, most of the time, trying to play decent football. I didn't think it was a bore draw at all and I personally found it entertaining as a game. In reality it's a better result for us than it was for Bury..........a point at home is not what they require in their position. There again, they won't come up against a team playing as well as Southend did, every week  Yes, at times we lacked that bit of sharpness but there again we weren't playing with our first choice strikers up front but with two youngsters who hadn't the experience of playing together and sometimes youthful exhuberance doesn't quite make up for experience.

Seems ironic that we have had two consecutive clean sheets away from home playing more expansive football than under "Mr Clean Sheet Mentality".

As one of my managers always used to say from my own playing days best form of defence is to attack and score goals
