BT - OD Match 7

You bat quite deeply now B? With 3 all-rounders you should be able to resist the BT collapses more than most.

1. Francis Canham (1560426)

RH Batsman, RM Bowler, superb batting form, strong bowling form, moderate fitness.
A defensive player with woeful leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Verbatim Vampires
Nationality: Australia
Age: 18 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 40,739
Wages: £4,988 p/w

Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: strong Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: quality Consistency: quality
Fielding: mediocre

This bloke has a bid of £6million. May try and get him, as even now he's an upgrade on Lever/Resha. Would mean I bat to 9, and could probably give him 2 nets. Only issue is the fella bidding on him has made 10million in transfers recently!

Can we up the RR please? Plodding at 5/6 an over against tired bowlers isn't enough.

End of Over 44: 241-5, runrate=5.48, reqrunrate=9.50 (297-9)
Remaketse 7-0-49-1
Gamage* 75 (79 balls)
Hulse 6 (6 balls)

Last Wicket: Collymore c. Stevens b. Remaketse 2 (FOW: 225/5)

Just when I get a trainee WK, Back does the business

End of Over 44: 264-8, runrate=6.00, reqrunrate=16.33 (361-4)
Nguyen-lee 7-0-52-2
Chukwu* 0 (3 balls)
Wilkey 19 (15 balls)

Last Wicket: Retief c. Back b. Nguyen-lee 0 (FOW: 263/8)

43.6 lb1 Nguyen-lee to Chukwu
Chukwu has fallen over going for that one! He's lucky Back completely missed it or that would have been an easy stumping.
43.5 . Nguyen-lee to Chukwu
If you want to show youngsters the perfect way to play a defensive shot then that's a fine example!
43.4 . Nguyen-lee to Chukwu
An inside edge onto the pads. No run.
43.3 W Nguyen-lee to Retief
Back made a spectacular dive there, not sure if it was necessary but it was effective.
43.2 W Nguyen-lee to Wilding
Back has come right up to the stumps. Nguyen-lee launches his slower ball and Wilding dances like a fairy down the pitch, misses, falls over and it's an easy stumping for Back, who appears to have an attack of the giggles.
43.1 1 Nguyen-lee to Wilkey
Outside off, not quite middled but played well enough for a quick single.

I hope it will be!

How much do you reckon he'll go for?

We'll see Thomas' price once my players sell tomorrow, and as they are similar although in different fields.

I think Montgomery will go for around £9-10million - there was a similar bowler to him on the list today who went for around that amount I believe.

Whitters cleans up for a great victory

And that's the end of the match. Napster's XI won by 97 runs.
Napster's XI 361-4
The Batters 264-10

End of Over 45: 264-10, runrate=5.87
Whittingham 7-0-42-4
Wilkey* 19 (15 balls)

44.4 W Whittingham to Birchall
A slower delivery... and he's out. He played all round that and got a top edge to mid on.
44.3 . Whittingham to Birchall
Full and just outside the off. This one is swinging away a touch, Birchall leaves it well alone and the ball goes through to the keeper.
44.2 . Whittingham to Birchall
It’s caught Birchall on the thumb, and that looked painful. He will need some magic spray.
44.1 W Whittingham to Chukwu
Big inswinging yorker crashes into his pads. Massive appeal and given!

I'll be annoyed if we lsoe this

Immortals v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Immortals won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Flat

End of Over 45: 232-5, runrate=5.16, reqrunrate=11.00 (286-7)
Oconnor 8-1-43-0
Tretton* 61 (57 balls)
Cunningham 10 (13 balls)

Last Wicket: Holsgrove c. Evelyn b. Middleton 4 (FOW: 188/5)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB survived a BT collapse to record a great win

Rehtakul Veets CC&FC v DIBS DIPPERS

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked
And that's the end of the match. DIBS DIPPERS won by 2 wickets.
Rehtakul Veets CC&FC 204-10
DIBS DIPPERS 205-8

Oh, looking again, the exceptional bowler went for nearly £12million! That's crazy. Look at the week's most expensive transfers, his name is Hayden Jenkins.

Yeah, I think Montgomery will go for a bit more than I originally anticipated.

Think BB will be a bit more relaxed now!

End of Over 47: 240-7, runrate=5.11, reqrunrate=15.67 (286-7)
Oconnor 9-1-45-2
Tretton* 65 (61 balls)
Greening 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Themba lbw b. Oconnor 0 (FOW: 240/7)

That should do it, and we're still in the promotion hunt :)

You bat quite deeply now B? With 3 all-rounders you should be able to resist the BT collapses more than most.
The middle to lower order is going to get skittled by a high quality bowler but you can only hope they will add some runs:

5: Remarkable
6: Quality
7: Strong
8: Proficient
9: Respectable

For most games 7 to 9 are fairly irrelevant but they won the game for me today, if Sandy hadn't been at 8 we could have lost our last 4 wickets in successive balls.

First time I've fielded the full XI for a while, the ratings are encouraging:

Total Cricket ShrimperZone CC
Top Order: quality remarkable
Middle Order: strong superb
Lower Order: abysmal feeble
Seam Bowling: remarkable sensational
Spin Bowling: quality wonderful
Fielding: feeble competent

I'm sure that fielding will be making a difference.

Probably end up 10 short

End of Over 48: 273-5, runrate=5.69, reqrunrate=12.50 (297-9)
Remaketse 9-0-68-1
Gamage* 92 (93 balls)
Hulse 20 (16 balls)

Last Wicket: Collymore c. Stevens b. Remaketse 2 (FOW: 225/5)

Need sixes...

End of Over 49: 283-5, runrate=5.78, reqrunrate=15.00 (297-9)
Donald 10-0-66-1
Hulse* 22 (18 balls)
Gamage 100 (97 balls)

Last Wicket: Collymore c. Stevens b. Remaketse 2 (FOW: 225/5)

Yeah, I'm really surprised at the price of them, I expected 10 million at most but it seems not.

The Flying Ferrets have just bought an exquisite for 10.5million. Not looking forward to bowling at him.

Game over. Very pleased to bowl them out for 257 on a Flat pitch in Sunny weather.

And that's the end of the match. BATTY SHRIMPERS won by 29 runs.
BATTY SHRIMPERS 286-7
Immortals 257-10

Lost

And that's the end of the match. Kester United CCC won by 8 runs.
Kester United CCC 297-9
Southend United 289-5

End of Over 50: 289-5, runrate=5.78
Remaketse 10-0-74-1
Gamage* 103 (100 balls)
Hulse 25 (21 balls)
