BT - OD Match 10

Bartlett 7-0-45-1
Gamage* 60 (60 balls)
Walmsley 5 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Hulse lbw b. Bartlett 82 (FOW: 267/4)

That is what I like to see

43.4 4 Siriwardene to Finnan
Short and wide outside the off stump and that's where Finnan likes it best. Massive chop and the ball screams away to the backward point fence. Try stopping that!
43.3 4 Siriwardene to Finnan
Half volley which Finnan puts away with a lovely glance through the on side.
43.2 4 Siriwardene to Finnan
Stunning strike! That's a full blooded wallop through the covers. Only a smidgeon of width but it disappeared.
43.1 4 Siriwardene to Finnan
The fielder isn't stopping that one.

End of Over 43: 211-3, runrate=4.91, reqrunrate=6.43 (255-6)
Churms 7-0-41-1
Finnan* 14 (10 balls)
Holt 82 (139 balls)

roger that YB

45.1 6 Summerfield to Philip
I don't like cricket, oh no, I love it. What a shot! Six as soon as it left the bat!

End of Over 45: 222-4, runrate=4.93, reqrunrate=9.00 (266-4)
Berry 8-0-52-2
Philip* 36 (34 balls)
Allan 4 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Booth c. Poole b. Berry 14 (FOW: 206/4)

Woo...

And that's the end of the match. Southend United won by 6 wickets.
Liverpool Vikings 294-3
Southend United 295-4

End of Over 46: 295-4, runrate=6.41
Draheem 7-0-57-1
Walmsley* 13 (9 balls)
Gamage* 74 (68 balls)

47.1 4 Summerfield to Back
Driven square through backward point and that's a lovely shot. Back hardly sets off to run, knowing it's four all the way.

End of Over 47: 241-5, runrate=5.13, reqrunrate=8.67 (266-4)
Berry 9-0-59-3
Back* 6 (3 balls)
Philip 47 (40 balls)

Last Wicket: Allan c. Cairns b. Berry 6 (FOW: 234/5)

On target for a glorious win

What an over

End of Over 49: 266-6, runrate=5.43, reqrunrate=1.00 (266-4)
Berry 10-0-76-4
Philip* 66 (47 balls)
Whittingham 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Back c. Poole b. Berry 12 (FOW: 266/6)

48.6 W Berry to Back
Advanced, picked up straight to Poole at mid on for an easy catch.
48.5 1 Berry to Philip
Leg side full toss, flicked off the legs to fine leg.
48.4 4 Berry to Philip
He took the risk of playing across the line, but it paid off this time. Four runs.
48.3 4 Berry to Philip
Tweaked away past gully and I think that one will go all the way. Yes it has.
48.2 4 Berry to Philip
Textbook cover drive, races to the boundary. No need to run for that.
48.1 4 Berry to Philip
A glorious square cut from Philip is placed perfectly between two fielders on the boundary. What a shot.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

5 balls to go and Philip on his debut replacing Suthers is superb

And that's the end of the match. Napster's XI won by 4 wickets.
Yorkshire Tykes 266-4
Napster's XI 267-6

End of Over 50: 267-6, runrate=5.34
Summerfield 9-0-57-0
Philip* 67 (48 balls)
0 (0 balls)

49.1 1 Summerfield to Philip
Whipped off his pads, and they run through for a single.

Lost a few wickets at the end, but won by 5 wickets thanks to a flurry of boundaries. I always seem to win by 5 wickets, Ramsden only had to get 2* (despite his 10 overs going for 82).

Agonising 7 run defeat for me - I needed 8 an over with 10 left and all wickets intact sadly I got slower and slower in the last 5 overs with not one boundary that I can remember but still 7 wickets to spare.

On the plus side I was thinking much worse a few hours back so despite the agony of defeat I wont have had a NRR hit, but that's two single digit defeats to this team now. Big centuries for batting trainee and the all rounder against very good standard bowlers for this league. Poor bowling needs further analysis.

Here's my table - including a shock defeat for the leaders today to Oh Dear

1. gold top 10 9 0 1 36 17.27
2. Sigtuna IF 10 7 0 3 28 15.56
3. ShrimperZone Vets CC 10 6 0 4 24 20.46
4. The Old Men of Kent 10 6 0 4 24 14.33
5. Oh Dear CC 10 6 0 4 24 8.03
6. Effortless 10 5 0 5 20 6.12

Next week I am away to Gold Top followed by a home to Old Men of Kent who puts out winning teams at will and really could win this division by miles if he so chose. I'm assuming no points for either of those matches :( - then away to Oh Dear home to Effortless both of which I should win but it really is going to go down to the wire

I'm in 5th, boo!! First place lost though so amazingly despite being W5 L5 I'm still only 8 from the top!
