Away Supporters:

Southend United supporters will enter via a separate turnstile at the main entrance to the ground, and will be directed to the Fridge End of the stadium, which they have been allocated for this fixture. Segregation will be in place for this fixture and additional catering facilities have been provided for away supporters. Please note that away ticket holders will not be allowed access into the home supporters’ areas of the stadium.

Away supporters who have not collected their tickets from SUFC ticket office will be able to collect their tickets from a collection point in the car park, near to the main entrance.

Catering:

Additional catering facilities have been provided for this fixture. A number of additional bars, tea/coffee stands and food outlets will be in operation. Home supporters will also have access to an additional bar set up in a marquee adjacent to BTFC Clubhouse. Supporters are encouraged to use card for payments where possible to help speed up queues.

Supporters are reminded that it is illegal to take pyrotechnics into a football stadium, and that the club could face sanctions for any use of pyrotechnics within the stadium. Anybody found in possession of a pyrotechnic device will be ejected from the stadium and may be subject to further action from Essex Police. BTFC also has a zero tolerance policy on drugs. Anybody found in possession of illicit substances will be ejected from the stadium and may be subject to further action from Essex Police. Amnesty bins will be in place at the entrance to the stadium for any illegal pyrotechnics or other illegal substances. We also ask supporters to be respectful to our local community.

Doing well - in-form Danny Ogunleye has scored 17 goals already for Brentwood Town already this season (Image: ALAN EDMONDS)

BRENTWOOD Town dangerman Danny Ogunleye will have Chris Barker in his thoughts when he faces Southend United on Saturday.

Ogunleye, who has scored 17 goals already this season, was in the Forest Green Rovers youth team coached by Barker prior to his death in January 2020.

And Ogunleye remains keen to do the ex Shrimpers skipper proud.

“He meant a lot to me,” said Ogunleye, who played in a match to remember Barker at Roots Hall in May 2022.

“He helped me so much with my development in my younger years when I was at Forest Green.

“He really helped me become the player that I am.

“He gave me so much support and helped me adapt to the more physical side of the game.

“I’m very happy he was in my life and hopefully I can do well for him.

“I still think about him all the time and I definitely will this weekend as it’s Southend we’re playing.”

Ogunleye, who can play anywhere across the front three, has continually caught the eye for Brentwood this season.

And he cannot wait for tomorrow’s FA Trophy tie with the Shrimpers.

“We’re really looking forward to it and there’s going to be a big crowd for us,” said Ogunleye.

“The atmosphere is going to be great and I’m sure all the boys will be ready for it.

“It’s exciting and something we welcome.

“It was a similar atmosphere against Hereford in the last round and we dealt with it quite well.

“We got the job done and we’ve dealt with any challenge coming our way so hopefully we will against Southend too.

“It’s going to be a very very good game.”

Brentwood head into the game sitting seventh in the Isthmian North standings and were boosted by a 3-1 win at Heybridge Swifts on Tuesday night.

Ogunleye scored twice late on in the victory and is pleased with how his season is shaping up.

“I’m very happy with my form at the moment,” said Ogunleye.

“I set myself a target in terms of goals and I’m on my way to reaching it.

“Helping the team get points is the main thing and then hopefully we can push for promotion to get out of the league.”

Brentwood are currently two points and two positions below the play-offs.

And Ogunleye is confident of kicking on.

“We’re doing quite well but we’ve lost a few games I don’t think we should’ve lost,” said Ogunleye who first joined Brentwood three years ago.

“We’ve bounced back from it and we’re in good form.

“We’re just outside the play-offs right now and we want promotion.

“We can definitely get play-offs, if not more.”

But, longer term, Ogunleye has his own ambitions to achieve.

I want to push on and get back into the pro game,” said the 22-year-old.

“That’s my aim.”
He have the talent to do well in NL, we should sign him, after we knocked them out first!

He have the talent to do well in NL, we should sign him, after we knocked them out first!
There is a step up and then a STEP UP. Scoring 17 three levels below is one thing but that would be a huge step up to NL in saying that Kone at Wycombe who has scored 8 in L1 was signed from the Essex Senior League in January

Weather plus the pitch will no doubt be a leveller tomorrow. If we dont treat this game in the correct manner we will be found out.If we do approach it correctly am confident we will win

I hope we do approach it the right way, and have a go in this competition, especially with it being COSUs first season, a day out at Wembley would be nice and a trophy (I say that loosely as yes it's a lower league one) would be a good way to end the season, obviously 2 days would be amazing if we make the play offs
