Shame we couldn't beat Brentford in the first tie just like last year when we had loads of chances to beat Oldham but didn't take them and lost in the replay.

So it looks like we are now without, Britt, laird, cress and hurst, arguably all of whom have been our best players this season. We are in the brown stuff big time.

We are going to go into this weekend's game with a right back as our most dangerous attacking threat. Midfield looks weak as a kitten. I don't care how badly Plymouth are doing, you don't win football matches with no midfield. Aldershot game proved that. We may even see the return of Spicer.

How many more times is this going to happen ,
Always seem to lose the bloody replays, when we have a decent draw.
but then again we would have not seen any of the proceeds anyway with that ***** running the club

plenty of football left this season i would rather have our dodgy patch now other than it come during a possible play off game, big shout out to Paul Smith Yesterday who was amazing and stopped us losing 6 or 7

Oh dear, anyone no longer confident of promotion what with form and injuries?

Losing away to Brentford is no yardstick to measure us by, they are a good league one side.

That aside our league form is poor and needs to be turned around, wont be confident of getting on track until a central midfielder joins personally.

Very proud of the team last night. Credit where credit is due, Smith was outstanding the best performance I've ever seen from a Southend Goalkeeper since i've been watching the blues (the early 70's.)

It would be great if some of the 1300 odd fans that came last night could make it to Chesterfield.... it would really help the players, as we saw last night.
