Nothing less than £800K plus add ons and a sell on would be good business IMHO. Paul Smith is more than good enough at L2 level and Ted can step up. This would allow monies to be banked and £100/150K to be spent on the only thing we need. We must bring in ............................................"A PROVEN GOALSCORER" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

£500,000 as long as thats up front and not with appearances, include a good sell on clase and possible England bonus if sellected, use the money to buy a proven goal scorer and stick young lad Smith in goal. there we go all sorted...I'd rather we let in three goals a game and scored four up the other end on a regular basis than watch all this 0 0 stuff.

I compare Bentley with Joe Hart when he was at Shrewsbury he went to Man City for an initial 250k, Hopefully we can get an initial 1 million for him with add ons!

Bentley does remind me of Hart, I find it quite comical how he seems to model himself on him but it's not a bad thing, he's a good example to follow. The potential is definitely there. I've seen him play only three times, yet can see that he'll go far. Good luck to him. Let's hope both player and club get the right deal, with no regrets.

If and when Dan does go, should we not get a loan back for the rest of the season, I'd expect Smith senior to resume his place in the first team for this season, possibly with a new one coming in during the summer. Smith junior isn't quite ready yet in my opinion.

Do you really think he'd be No 1 ?
If I were a keeper that had contributed to my side being 5th in Championship , I'd be pretty annoyed / surprised if a 21 year old from L2 took my place
David Button is a very decent keeper and only 25 so Bentley could have a very long wait indeed to get regular game time and then a sell on clause would be unlikely to bring us much.

Bentley needs to look closely at any club chasing him and before signing for said club ,he needs to be sure he has opportunities at that club and is not going to be warming the subs bench,as that will do him more harm than good,Whatever i do wish him well for the future albeit it wont be with SUFC as we are unlikely to get out of league 2 this season.

He has managed his finances poorly so his future lies entangled with the club's and its spiralled into both losing out and he cannot afford to walk away.

Sure there are money problems with a lot of lower league teams but the majority haven't been issued with winding up orders.

Are you suggesting that most owners have done the same....or maybe I'm not delusional?

Back to my original point I believe Brentfords owners have done a lot more for their club than Ron has for us. Do you not agree?

Go count how many clubs have been in administration. The fact that we have managed to avoid it makes us in the minority of League clubs and something that is actually to Ron's credit. We may have been involved in some dodgy dealing, but we haven't had to issue a plea for a whip round to pay the St John's Ambulance what they were owed like Palace fans did once...

This is from 2010. The percentage is even higher now.

RM is many things, but actually if you look at the business he has done in selling our players in recent years he has done well in my opinion, especially in terms of including add on's and sell on fees. He won't be sold on the cheap.

He could have got some serious money for Moshni from W.Ham,though.

Brentford are a good club..but I fear that in two or three years time Dan would be running out for a league game at Roots Hall with his Brentford team. And that is not with us in the Championship!

Then you are clueless. Their recruitment strategy is the best outside of the Premiership, they have probably the best philanthropic chairman/fan in the Football League, a new ground that's actually getting built and they'll be comfortable in the Championship for the foreseeable future.

Pity they're a shower of bellends, really.
