I don't believe in the death penalty, but I do support sterilization and the removal of the right to vote ....... for people who support the death penalty.

Thanks....I think!I'd make an exception for you obl, but only because you're a benfleet blue.
No point in a right to vote if that right is subject to having the 'right' opinions. Bizarre.
So what possible reason is there for this bloke to live given that he is a self confessed murderer and by his own admission is sane?I don't believe in the death penalty, but I do support sterilization and the removal of the right to vote ....... for people who support the death penalty.

Because Norway is a civilised country and they don't have the death penalty there?

You can't know that unless you are in the same position. I just know that I disagree with public money being wasted on such a person.Keep him in prison without freedom for the rest of his life or end all his suffering quickly and painlessly? I know what I'd want as a parent of a murdered child... Let him suffer!

Easy to say Barnas when those poor kids weren't yours,i say let him swing.

Let him suffer? You could throw the bloke into a 50 foot deephole and leave him with nothing to eat or drink. If he sustained a few injuries on the way in so much the better. That would work.Keep him in prison without freedom for the rest of his life or end all his suffering quickly and painlessly? I know what I'd want as a parent of a murdered child... Let him suffer!
Yeah, I quite understand that argument, and there's a lot to be said for everyone being someone's son or daughter, but I would find it quite hard to understand the parents of someone like Breivik, mourning his loss in such a way. More likely they would be mourning the loss of the child he used to be and possibly blaming themselves for having let him down somehow. There is some fascinating stuff from US where families were desperate for death penalty - but then were in the room watching them die, seeing the murderers parents go through what they did, and actually decided that the want for the death penalty was a far greater feeling than the reality and the reality kind of made them feel empty. It's on my school computer somewhere!
Is death worse than life in prison?
Well it certainly looks like prison isn't sitting comfortably with him:
BBC
Anyone else thinking he only started a university course so that he could drop out and blame it on his conditions?
