Bradbury Leaving!?!

And why not give JCR a go upfront? he used to be a striker & im sure he'd be a hell of alot better than what we have, plus he has pace!

So you honestly think when he has played for us he has looked effective?!

I honestly think he started to look okay before he got injured. Cardiff at home last season I thought he looked very good, had a goal disallowed and hit the bar with a great header, unfortunately he got injured after that game but the bottom line is I wont judge a player on 6/7 games after joining us and I wish some more people would be as kind.

I'm sick of ****ing knee-jerk reactions.

knee jerk reactions? we are totally ineffective upfront and bottom of the league (bar leeds point reduction) albeit after 2 league games, but unless something changes we will be stuck in a rot

LOL... cannot believe some of the people on here sometimes (a lot of the time!).

Bradbury gets constantly slagged off and told he isnt good enough, soon as he leaves its like "What is Tilly doing?" etc etc...

We have a crop of average to bad strikers - we need to GET RID of a few asap in order to bring some quality in.

Dont cry about Bradders going - I have no doubt he will be followed by Paynter, Hooper and maybe one other (Foran?) before the end of August and we will have one or maybe two better forwards in.

Good luck Lee and thanks for your service!

Excellent post. Tilly and Ron can't do anything right at the moment in some people's eyes. The fact is the majority of strikers that have been signed have not produced the goods and Tilly has acknowledged this and is showing the door to this group. People keep screaming that Harrold and Paynter should be shown the door first - what if nobody else wants these players? We can't afford to just release these players on a free - we would have to buy them out of their contracts - more cash wasted.

There was interest in Bradbury so he's going. Nice bloke, worked his socks off but ultimately not what the club needs. The club appear to be paving the way for new faces - looks promising that we might have new goal threat.

Exactly - we cant just dump players - other clubs have to come in for them.

We ******* £250,000 on Paynter, and whilst I dont doubt for one moment that we will get a 10th of that back, we cannot just release him. Harrold I doubt will ever be 'sold' and will end up being released at the end of his contract.

Same with Foran - £200,000 wasted.

I will agree that Paynter and Foran havent had a proper chance or run, so lets stick with them if they are selected, but Bradbury is at the end of his career, isnt going to score 20 goals and clears a space in the squad for (hopefully) a better striker.

Seriously, he's not even started ten games for the club and was playing in the midst of our 17 game winless streak! On top of that, did you ever wonder why no striker other than Fred ever seemed to get any chances? Or maybe why so many of our goals seemed to come from speculative strikes from range?

He never stood a chance.

I'm quite shocked by all this, IMO he was the best striker we had (and i'm not getting drawn into a debate whether certain players have more potential or not been given a chance) .. simply put, if i had to list our CURRENT strikers in order for a starting spot Bradders would be number one..

Surely this can only mean Tilly has someone lined up, and if it is Byfield there's no need to rush anything as he wouldn't be allowed to play tomorrow anyway

Has this actually been said anywhere apart from on this board??? Everyone keeps going on about Easter and Byfield, yet the only place I have heard that is on this board, has anyone got any credible information?

agreed. if you look at the other thread 'starting line up for tomorrow' Bradbury starts for nearly everyone if not all.

true.. i think we can assume it's going to be Harrold +1 tomorrow now. Hope everyone here will get behind him. slagging your own players off 3 league games into the season isn't exactly going to breed confidence...

Sorry no, i was just picking up the vibe from here.. rather Byfield than Easter IMO.. but rather that guy from Plymouth (name escapes me :o ) than either of them
