By clapping and supporting him, you are telling him you are satisfied with his effort and peformance.. and if you were, today, then roll on league 2 again i s'pose..

To encourage or discourage? I think urging him onward is far more productive than shouting and swearing at him. I know which sort of fans get the better results in the long run.

Fair enough, they may not have heard over the drum. But to say it didn't truly happen is simply incorrect ;).

And as for the bald bloke at the back of block V who lost his top at Gower... why don't you f*ck off! Gower has been a great servant to this club

:)

oh i think my ears are burning! LOL brilliant, and thanks J for sticking up for us all.

doesnt seem like a free world anymore......

Tbh I just cant stand listening to the crap that some people spout (my opinion!), especially when its not always deserved!

Exactly, it's your opinion, but when you start telling people to "Shut it.. " you're then not giving them right to an opinion.. and then we would end up in Naziland..

Well **** me bonesy, you guys go to every ****ing game, spend a good 100 quid plus a week on the blues, and you get slagged off and slated on here.. some of them should ****ing apologise to you lot personally..

But by doing that, you are saying they have no right to opinion?

Their opinion is theirs and they are welcome to it. But the way they express it is detrimental, in my opinion, to our chances of winning, and of holding on to our best players or even long term the best manager we have had in a long, long time.

It's like the smoking arguement. Yes people have the right to smoke, but not to ruin other peoples health/enjoyment by unfettered smoking. Same with this crap these blokes are dishing out at matches.

Surprised so many people join in with "Sit Down Shut Up" at the away fans then because they are people too and are entitled to their opinion....somehow a chant saying they have freedom of speech and they can do what they like just wont catch on.....:p

im sure ron would have been proud of their loyalty today...everyone one is entitled to moan but not just for a laugh to look the part with your mates ...to basically give it the big i am....number of years service to the cause , distance travelled and number of reserve games attended does not preclude an individual behaving like an idiot and the language of their apologists probably sum up their collective neanderthal tendencies

The Gower issue is a bit pointless really - he tells the management to eff off when they shout at him, so he's not going to listen to the fans one way or the other!

Well i'll have you know one thing, those Mugs, go to everything ****ing game... At least 6 of them were at the Essex Senior cup game.. and i know all of them went to Hartlepool.

In fact, Ron Martin was in correspondance with them over ticket issues - and rewarded them with some tickets for brighton for their loyalty.

.

once again thanks j

and yes we do go to every game home and away! Loyalty at it's best......

well **** me.. someone swallowed a dictionary.

Hahaha... great thread - those people are Fantastic for the club.

Just wanna recap over some comments on here so far -

"They are the people who just premiership..'
"They are mugs.."

So if you think they're mugs, pricks or whatever, go and see them.. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to put you right...

They have a right, as well as everyone else, including this bald bloke, to express whatever opinion. Now for Sufc_gal, he confronted someone who supported the club for over 35 years, so he was moaning? So what - HE HAS A ****ING RIGHT TO! And so does anyone else.

and for the record - gower was **** today.. and i cannot believe as many people justified clapping him off as they did.

"CLAP CLAP CLAP"

Could this thread become a sticky as its brought up every weekend?

Looking forward to what that Glasgow fella got to say on the matter as he must of been there today:p

the atmos was poo today, so what if we was singing about a tranny and a pool boy in a porno shop on the A1 to Leeds, its better then singing nothing, but then again everyone did start singing "when we was winning"

I was one of a few that went on tuesday night to the Essex cup and i am one of a few hundred that travel all over the shot to watch Southend play (if you can it that sometimes) if i aint happy with something on the field am gonna say something not just sit and clap aint gonna get anywhere.

could anyone really say there where happy with how we played in the 1st half?

I fully agree you're entitled to express your opinion. The only thing I'd disagree with is anyone who intentionally swears with kids nearby (but then I am a softy who doesn't like that sort of thing )

You have the right to say what you like. People have the right to shout you down and I hope they do. You may have been to Hartlepool, so what. BUT you'll never be real supporters in my eyes.
