TBV in the West or North

Enough said. Pack it out for the remaining games and get your season cards in there next season if atmosphere is your thing.

Maher: “It was huge, especially near the end and with the North Bank there as well. That’s pretty new to me to hear it like that, and they helped get the lads over the line with their energy.”

Absolutely this ^^

It was quite emotional and nostalgic at times on Saturday!

Next stage is to get some back and forth going with each stand.

Several times the west stand did the "were the west stand we're the west stand, were the stand of roots Hall" but got no response from the north.

Maybe next game the north could start it followed by oooooaaahhhhhhh and pointing at which stand it wants to reposnd.

I always liked that back in the day..

The w block was also In full voice and I'm sure the east and south joined in too.

The north seemed to get more noise going around the ground.

Lots of west standers made their way through to the north, before the gates got closed and this probably helped numbers.

For 30 years the fans of our great club have been unable to support from their spiritual home. Today showed exactly why heaven and earth needs to be moved by the club to hand it back in its entirety next season.

I refuse to believe it cannot be done. The extra points will make it worthwhile.
For sure!

I don’t have any real involvement these days, in fact I have not been to a Southend game in months and months (long story) but from what I have seen this now it’s been implemented well is a good move and the extra noise as Smiffy says is a game changer quite literally.
Dan has done a superb job taking over when we left it to him due to myself and @Smiffy getting older, getting married, kids etc….

Come back TrueBlue. Now you're getting on a bit, you can do what a few of us old boys, ex North Bank, or West Stand have done, and sit peacefully in the East or South Stand Upper, you won't have to sing, or go topless, in your case. You can just watch and enjoy the game, and still be part of it, but more anonymously.

You putting True Blue in the same bracket as Alison Moyet?

From the west, I thought it took a little while to get fully going but once it did, it was brilliant.

It was great to hear the whole ground joining in a bit more too. Certain chants or songs are better for that than others.

Just one slight negative note, the chants of 'no noise from the North Bank Boys' from some in the west in the first half weren't needed. I know it's in jest but we really don't need to be negative towards each other. Aim that at the away end. We are much better when we all join in together, like we did in the second half. Let's hope it continues!
Actually, the back and forth banter worked well earlier in the season and it does get a bit of call and response going if the others respond back which can actually drive towards concerted efforts, therefore it can be quite productive.

I was still in the thick of it having made the move from W block to NB at 68 years young. Making the most of it as not sure my hips will take it for a whole season so making the most of what could be my TBV swansong with these last few chances at being back in my spiritual home on the North Bank.
Absolutely loved it on Saturday and sharing it with my sons made it just that bit more special... 🤗👍🫶

No. Same bracket as me. Like probably untold others around the Southend area, I've been told many times that I was a face back in the day, Lol. They usually mention remembering me in the old North Bank, in Leigh, or around Southend, or on the seafront.
Now I can go to Roots Hall, and the newer generations don't give me a second look. I'm nobody to them, which is fine by me. TrueBlue was a face at Southend, home and away, and a leader of the Blue Voice. I'm not sure the latest Blue Voice/North Bank, would know who he is.

Anonymity is good. Think plenty would still recognise TB to be honest, maybe not with his new snazzy jumpers but sure they’d come off given the right circumstances.
