I'll form my opinion on his career goals per game statistics above, and based on this I think he is pretty poor for a striker! Interesting to note that he has played for his dad at 4 different clubs now - when he left the previous 3 that his father managed (Dundee Utd, Plymouth & Swindon) he played for an inferior club soon afterwards (Brechin, Kidderminster & Bournemouth respectively) due to Sturrock Senior leaving to join another club.
So 103 starts and 32 goals.Assuming he averaged 15 minutes on the pitch when substitute 129 times, then this would equate to about 22 full appearances. So now we have 125 matches and 32 goals .It's not too bad.And that's not allowing for being substituted when he obviously couldn't score sat on the bench.Who was it said "never let the facts spoil a good story" ?
FWIW i don't think junior is good enough to start matches ,but he ain't as bad as you'd have us believe.

A goal every three and a half starts would surely make him comfortably more prolific (less unprolific?) than several of our strikers in recent years.

I think we've got four strikers who will all score goals for us this season. Once Sturrock has us passing the ball around and the midfield bombing on creating chances I do believe that all of them, including Blair, will get at least 10 each, if not more. Lets get into the season, see where we are Xmas time then maybe starting moaning?

The fact that the two older strikers are not prolific and the two younger ones haven't been given enough pitch time to become prolific is for Luggy to sort out. We've still got 40+ games to go this season, they will all get their opportunities.

Another good performance from Blair again.
Never stopped, good passing again, and did what he was supposed to do, aswell as trying to be a target man! Which didn't work because Torquay's centre halves where massive!

Why does Blair Sturrock turn his back to goal and why does he always pass to the 'nearest player' I looked at his old club stats, i notice he couldnt make an appearance at TRURO CITY? and he likes to follow daddy to his clubs. Its like being a 8year old where your dads the manager and you gain a spot in the 1st team. I really hope his dropped sorry for anyone who feels different and its been mentioned before his goal per game ratio is poo, he calls himself a striker, really????

Well done today Blair, this clueless thread starter must wish it would dissapear as he is looking very silly as time goes on. Fantastic hold up play and vision that Patterson and Frank Spencer could only dream about. Coming from Woodham, better stick to catching rabbits!

Frank Spencer hahahaa! oohh Betty!

You are right about everything apart from Matt and Scott. Still funny though!

Blair was knocked senseless by Branston today and the ref turned a blind eye to it all. Fair play to Sturrock, he stuck with it and kept on and on. His hold up play, his vision and his little flicks let the midfield in on numerous occasions.

Has your account been hacked, I really didn't think you would have a positive thing to say about Blair Sturrock
