Best roots hall memory

What would your best memory of roots hall be. mine would have to be either the man u game or bristol city being the goats last game and crowned champions.

these all closely followed by

the northampton game in the play offs.
boston game when tes went in goal
beating QPR 4-0 or 5- both games were great

Meeting my first girl friend on the southbank and my 2nd wife outside by the club shop luckily 20 odd years apart.

Gray scoring the title winning goal I was a steward at the time and I went absolutely mental, didn't bother stopping fans invading the pitch either!

I was on the verge of tears watching King Kev lift the trophy!

My first ever game vs charlton 1996-97 season. Got beat about 2 or 3 that day.

Bristol City when we won the league was the best game i went to, just the whole day was a joy.

Ofcourse Man U. Freddy freekick infront of glory Man U fans was great!

Collymore's last game, we beat Luton on the last day of the season to stay up in 1993. Roots Hall was packed, both sets of fans celebrated at the end as both teams avoided relegation. Collymore was held aloft on fans shoulders as a hero!

Man Utd. The ground was absolutely rocking. when that final whistle went everything just seemed to go into slow-motion and it felt like 10,000 fans were dancing and singing for hours!

His first game was a bit special too as we were on such a low at the time.

Liverpool at home 1979
Man utd at Home 2006
West ham at home circa 1992
Countless hours at the club on non match days
Countless hours in the Shrimpers Club
.....and who can forget Fannys?

I remember that day, absolutely fantastic!

also among my highlights...
-beating Newcastle 4-0 on new years day to top of the table for a few hours.
-beating ipswich 2-1 with a last minute goal (can't rememer the year or who scored, but went absolutely mental, early 90's anyway)
-beating west ham 1-0 in the league
-winning league v bristol city, & the goat's retirement
-beating man utd
-beating leeds this season as it was the first game my american girlfriend saw us win, she loved it and is now hooked

Also from my early years supporting the blues, we always sat near the back of the west stand and there was an old chap that smoked a pipe. Now whenever i smell a pipe being smoked it makes me think of the Hall.

toss up between three moments
1. Wolves 87 what a night one of the most voiciferous nights I have ever known at the hall we were both going for promotion, we won one nil

2.Winning the league with super kev lifting the trophy

3. Birmingham at home with judas fry coming back sheer hatred pouring out of the north bank loved every minute of it

will plump for the title I think????????????

I remember back in 1988 their was a butcher at the market. he had a microphone and was whipping the crowd up into a frenzy. God knows how many packs of chops he sold but he was a real entertainer.
