Best food from a can.

I am torn between Heinz beans and mini pork sausages and Heinz Cream of tomato soup.

Stewed steak.

Also there is a chili con carne (can't remember which brand) which we used to buy in a big tin and have when we went camping as kids - always used to taste amazing after a day of rain/walking/***** weather.

I love a tin of Stagg's hot chilli! For a quick dinner, that and microwaved jacket is great!

Can't beat a tin of Heinz tomato soup though - ultimate comfort food.

Mandarins. The kind of thing that you forget exists then it's an uber treat, then they disappear again till you have a real need. I think that is what's known as a super food.

Tinned mandarins - in fact, most tinned fruit - is an abomination, however, mandarins in particular are devil food, that my sister loved so we were given them often. I always refused to eat them - and there's not many foods I can say that about!

Agree with Heinz beans which of course must never be desecrated with tomato sauce that is not also Heinz

For afters half a tin of Ambrosia rice and half a tin of Ambrosia custard, same again the next day. Of course they must be full fat, otherwise why bother.

In the 70's there were only really two types of food - beans and fish fingers. Spam and corned beef existed but we don't like to admit it now due to the nausea that results from merely reading those words.

Remember spam fritters at school. As you bit into them the jet of hot fat hitting the back of your throat was a good precursor that there was worse to come. If they fed them to children today the school would be put into special measures, with parents threatening legal action.

I used to love Heinz's Spaghetti Bolognese as a kid, not had it in years. Apart from beans & soup (and base vegetables like chickpeas/tomatoes) don't think I eat much canned stuff. Certainly no fruit
