Best ever Southend goal?

Best Goal - Nathan Jones vs Cheltenham @ Home, 00/01 Season

Ran with the ball virtually from his left back position evading various challenges along the way before slotting home from the edge of the robins area.

Most Meaningful Goal - Duncan Jupp vs Lincoln @ Cardiff

Pure emotion, goal sealed our promotion back to league one after many seasons of dull and dire football in the basement league.

Best I have ever seen was Freddy vs Oxford at home a few years ago. Nothing on jinked past about six players before slamming the ball home. Truely fantastic goal.

and all of Stan's. The two he scored at Oxford were incredible.

He only got one at Oxford, but what a goal it was!

So many others to choose from though in my lifetime:

Stan's 2nd vs Huddersfield
Stan's two versus Bristol Rovers
Stan v Millwall
Roy McDonough v Blackpool (overhead kick)
Tilly v Grimsby
Paul Byrne v Norwich
Ricky Otto at Derby
Ricky Otto at Barnsley (if he meant it!)
Angell v Swindon
John Cornwell at Cambridge
John Nielson v Bolton
Nathan Jones v Cheltenham
Freddy v Man United
Freddy's 3rd at Bristol City
Freddy's 2 v Hartlepool
Freddy v Blackpool
Freddy's 2 at Swansea
Freddy v Oxford
Macca at Preston
Maher's 2 at Preston
Nicky Bailey at Millwall
Peter Clarke at Orient

Take your pick!!

I think that must have seen my list that I have been preparing!!! The in bold are my personal favourites.

One goal that people seem to have forgotten about is Tilly's volley at home to Millwall to make it 3-3. You will not see a sweeter volley anywhere. Also anyone remember Freddy's goal in our 3-0 win at Cheltenham in our champioship season. A great strike!

.......no question about it from me - it may not be the most spectacular, but it was the one that I celebrated the most:

Who put the ball in the Bury net - Benji Benji
Who put the ball in the Bury net - Ian Benjamin

Thats definately in my list along with:

Eastwood Vs Man Utd
Juppy Vs Lincoln play off final.
Bramble's overhead time Vs Luton in the FA Cup.
Leon Clarke's chip vs Gillingham(?)
Barrett Vs Brighton
Eastwood Vs Hartlepool
Bailey at Millwall
Searle Vs Rushden & Diamonds
Bentley Vs Darlington

They are the ones I can think of at the minute.

Goals I have personally witnessed that stood out for me are:

Freddy vs. Cheltenham away League 1 winning season
Freddy vs. Bristol City away League 1 winning season
Searle vs. Rushden home
Gower vs. Forest away last season

Watching that I'm sad now :(

We got shafted over the transfer...

The thing that never ceases to amaze me is the sheer strength and determination in his play during that first season, when he played almost every other defence off the field and made it all look so easy. Great, great player. The Man U goal and the one he set up for Juppy are probably two of the best we've ever scored.

yes it was, the celebrations when that went in were incredible!

Another goal that day was my bro's penalty in the half-time challenge, he buried it past DJ Bear then proceeded to goad the Col U fans, he was only 6 :D
derek duval planted one past him as well then got booed by the scum fans.

Johnny Walker's overhead kick away at Wealdstone oin the FA Cup 1980.

Right out of the Blue and the only decent thing he did in a Blue shirt.

Must admit, I did choose a Collymore goal, but Andy Sussex's goal against Luton had amazing technique, much like Van Persie's a while back!

No new ones from me, but I'm agreeing with Firestorm, Angell Delight and A N Other:
Mike Marsh v Ipswich
Paul Byrne v Norwich
Andy Sussex v Luton
All at the Hall, all from distance and all great strikes...

I have two memorable goals,

1) McCormacks volley against Preston North End a couple of years ago sticks in my mind, what a strike that was!
2) Freddy Eastwood's free kick against Man Utd is most probabally the most memorable of them all, and will stay in many supporters minds for many years.

I have managed to watch Freddy Eastwood's goal online, but I can't find McCormacks goal online, so if anyone can find the video of that online, could they post a link please. Green rep for the first link posted.

I have three goals that, even now ,I cannot decide which is my favourite.

1. Chris Gutherie, in front of the north bank circa 1974? when he rounded 3 defenders before he slotted it top left. Can't remember who it was against, but it was fantastic movement for a big lad.
2. Juppy at the Mill Stad. I remember thinking to myself , 'what the hell is he doing coming through like a stream train', we all behind the goal were screaming at Fredy to pass it to him, the rest is history.
3. For personal reasons, Mark Gowers equalisr in the 3-3 draw with Norwich in 2006. All of the west stand rose up and went mental apart from Mrs GYS (A Norwich fan) who sat glum faced as me and GYS Junior danced around her.
