Best ever Southend goal?

sufcalways

Manager
Damon Searle vs Rushden & Diamonds at home - rocketed one from distance and it went in top corner!

Baileys strike at Milwall was a cracker too

However the one that tops it for me now is Peter Clarkes deflected shot at Orient - meant so much!!

Whats your favourite goal?

I've always been a fan of Eastwoods at home to Blackpool, not a screamer by any means just the skill involved was class. Juppy's at Cardiff still sends shivers.
However the best goal I have seen us score will require some mulling over.

I have so many

But one that will always live in my memory was vs Swindon (I think) in 1991/92.

Chris Powell hits a long ball to Benji, Benji cushion-headers it to Brett Angell and Angell hits a side-footed volley that went screaming in to the South Bank net from fully 30 yards. 3 touches from our own half to the net and the ball didn't touch the ground. Fantastic goal.

Definitely I prefer the goals that are well worked, Barrets at home to Brighton where he hit it top left from edge of box was well worked and good finish too :)

Steve Tilson at home to Grimsby early 90's poor lay off 40 yards out but he still smashed it into the top corner with one touch.

Other than that then this effort from Andy Sussex in the huge last game of the season aginst Luton is up there with my favorites because of its importance and quality!

have a look through the You Tube group you might be lucky, haven't got time myself.

Tommy Mooney's first against Oxford in the 6-1 win. Ricky Otto Cruyff turns a player on the half way line, runs past three defenders, gets to the byeline, whips over a cross, Mooney scores with a flying scissor kick type volley. Best goal I have ever seen.

Andy Sussex goal for me as well, i was right behind the left hand upright and it seemed to head towards me in slow motion.....i still have the shshshshshshshshshs noise in my head as the ball hit the net

Lots

Drewe against Col U to take us to Cardiff
Buzz versus D&R in the ESC, a volley from the edge of the area
Freddy v Man United
Donut's penalty against Shilton
Mark Warren at Swansea

But the best goal was Peter Daley's only professional goal (IIRC versus Col U)

One of my favourite Freddy goals aswell along with the one he scored from pretty much the corner flag, I still watch that and think how the hell did he get that in.

Macca's at Preston and Bailey's at Millwall are hard to choose between though in terms of technical ability.
