I wouldn't be surprised if he signed an extension and gave us another season so that we can get some money for him next summer and he can get another season of invaluable experience in a higher division.

See the back page of today's Echo. I certainly cannot see him staying on after this season so the only reason for the contract extension would be to inflate his price tag.

As I mentioned on another thread, he said something along the lines of "I've achieved all I've wanted to at Southend" (can't remember the exact wording) which says to me that he thinks his work here is done.

Darryl Flahavan to replace him?

This is what Dan actually said.

"I know there has been a little bit of speculation about my future but I'm very happy with what we've achieved this year and I enjoy being a Southend player"

I'm not sure that means he's done and off.

Well I've just signed him as my back up keeper for liverpool on FM 2015 season 2018/2019 . My first choice got injured in first game (Broken Arm 3 months out) put him in and now he is a England Keeper

The guy is destined for the top . Id even go as far as saying he is at a similar level to what Joe Hart was at the same age , :)

BUT

Unless he is getting first team football at a top level Championship side he would be stupid to go

If he was going to leave he wouldnt sign an extension.

He has two years on his deal so we dont have to extend it to get a decent fee from him, so if he does sign Id expect him to be here until next Summer, question is will he sign it ?

No! No! No!
Unless he's grown by at least 6 inches, that is !
Would anyone seriously want to witness another stream of moderately tall opponents scoring with unchallenged headers from inside or very close to our 6 yard box?

I totally agree with this, there would be no point him leaving unless he was going to play first team football and I would be surprised if a Premiershi* club or top Championship club would have him as a first team keeper when he's only played in League 2.

If he has a good season in League One then maybe next summer he'll be ready for that step.

The Hampsters have signed a new keeper, presumably to back up Adrian.

"West Ham United have signed goalkeeper Darren Randolph, the club have announced.
The 28-year-old will join the Hammers on July 1 on a free transfer as his contract at Birmingham Cityexpires.
Randolph, a Republic of Ireland international, spent two seasons with the Blues, helping them to remain in the Championship, despite the club’s struggles.
He kept 12 clean sheets last season, which piqued the interest of the managerless Hammers, only missing one league match, due to suspension, in his last two campaigns."
