You all have your own opinions.. I have mine.... you should all know.. Anything is possible in football... And who says Swindon cannot go on a losing run for a few.. or... Crawley could not go on a winning streak now??

Of course everyone has their own opnions and thats fair enough. Some of the predictions on thise do make me chuckle though, some people have most of the top six winning nearly all their games which just wont happen.

1. Swindon Lost today
2. we won today.. closing the gap.
3. crawley also won today.
4.aldershot, crewe also won today keeping their same positions..

There will be plenty of twists and turns, starting on Tuesday!

Our form recently has improved so an automatic slot looks possible, but there will be plenty of shock results to come im sure.
At least the pairing of Harris and Benyon up front is looking good and if Hall can get back to form, we must be in with a shout !
But ive got a sneaky feeling its going down to the last game, stressful times ahead !

SWINDON 41+ 92
SHREWSBURY 26+ 88
TORQUAY 20+ 86
---------------------
SOUTHEND 25+ 83
CHELTENHAM 25+ 82
CRAWLEY 24+ 82
CREWE 8+ 71

I'm a little afraid that if there were dark horses, horror upon horror, Crawley could regain some form. They have a series of matches against Hereford, Daggers, Northampton, AFC Wimbledon and Barnet. Could see them going on a run here and picking up confidence for the last few games.

I suppose that it goes to show how fickle predicting results is. I've redone my estimations on the basis of todays results and have come up with different conclusions...........but sadly not for us, in terms of automatics.

SWINDON 39+ 91
CRAWLEY 31+ 89
SHREWSBURY 28+ 89
---------------------------------
TORQUAY 21+ 89
SOUTHEND 31+ 86
CREWE 14+ 78
GILLINGHAM 19+ 74

Don't know how I got Torquay out of the automatics............but there you go!

In our efforts to estimate which teams will make the automatics or play-off places, there is a very important element that makes this task even more difficult. I think some attention needs to be given to the sides at the bottom, desperately fighting for League Two survival. It's here that a number of strange results are likely to occur, which could upset the apple cart for one or two high fliers and of course makes the job of predicting, that more difficult. This message of warning goes out to two clubs this weekend. Shrewsbury have the apparent easy task of a visit to 23rd placed Plymouth......OK, following a brief revival, they have lost two of their last three but all very closely contested matches. Southend United only have to turn up at 22nd placed Hereford???........................not exactly, Hereford after giving Gills the shock of their life, just losing out to the odd goal in NINE, are now undefeated in three, of which two were wins.......BE CAREFUL Blues!!!!
Pity that Northampton aren't playing many at the top clubs because they have won three on a trot. Barnet won at Port Vale last time out and Macclesfield have drawn their last five matches but haven't won in ten! It's only poor Daggers that appear to be sinking fast with three defeats on the trot. I suppose that it is in our interest that the dog fight at the bottom goes on as long as possible and those teams involved fight for their lives (apart from Hereford and Barnet, when they play against us!) and cause one or two surprises along the way.
Slightly off topic, something that we all hope won't effect us next year but have you been watching the fight for the one automatic place for entry to League Two. Wow! virtually nothing to divide Fleetwood and Wrexham......will keep an eye on that one.

Quite relieved that we avoided the banana skin that Shrewsbury happily slipped up on............but, in the end, only just!
As with everyone else I was more than happy withe the other results.........bar one. Am I the only one that viewed Crawley's comeback and eventual victory against Port Vale, with great consternation? With Swindon and Torquay doing so well, the last thing we need is a resurgeant Crawley..........COME ON YOU GILLS, Tuesday night!

So god dam close all the way to the final day!

Swindon 95
Torquay 88
Shrewsbury 86
Southend 85
Cheltenham 84
Crawley84
Oxford 76

Although I think in this sort of thing you tend to favour the better sides more, so I reckon all those teams will finish with 2 or 3 points less, as I can't see us getting 21 points from 10 games!

This is what I predicted 2 weeks ago.

This is now.

Swindon 94 -1
Crawley 88 +4
Shrewsbury 86 -
Torquay 83 -5
Southend 82 -3
Oxford 78 +2
Cheltenham 76 -8

1. Swindon 97
2. Crawley 91
3. Torquay 87
--------------------------------
4. Shrewsbury 86
5. Southend 82
6. Oxford 78
7. Crewe 75

Just did this:

1. Swindon 99
2. Shrewsbury 91
3. Torquay 89
----------------------
4. Crawley 87
5. Southend 80
6. Crewe 76
7. Oxford 74
----------------------
8. Cheltenham 74

In my heart of hearts now I can't see us finishing anywhere other than 4th or 5th and expect us to play Crewe, Oxford or Cheltenham in the play-off semis with the first leg away from home.
