Battrick - Matchday 9 (OD)

That'll do wonders for his NRR, espcially if he can knock it off in the 1st over.

Well it took him 4 overs but he cant grubble!

Looking rather tight in my game. Need to try and slow the RR down!

End of Over 17: 80-2, runrate=4.71
Tapp 2-0-12-0
Dobson* 27 (45 balls)
Carlisle 45 (44 balls)

Last Wicket: Robbins c. Jackman b. Guy 8 (FOW: 23/2)

Cold Rod and Cooky bludgeon their 50's in quick time against the unfit bowlers. Pleased to see Cold Rod scoring at 3, he sometimes seems wasted down at 5.

End of Over 20: 140-2, runrate=7.00
Fallon 5-0-43-0
Curtis* 50 (35 balls)
Cook 51 (36 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham b. Mcintosh 28 (FOW: 52/2)

End of Over 19: 97-5, runrate=5.11
Barrowdale 10-2-36-4
Downing* 66 (62 balls)
Sykes 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Fellowes lbw b. Barrowdale 0 (FOW: 97/5)

YB will be happy!

We can tell you that Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloud day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 8: 14-10, runrate=1.75
Ramsden 3-1-6-5
Wilson* 0 (1 balls)

Scaly Piscine have been putting out their reserves in ODIs.

I am however (a) relieved that they continued this policy and didn't decide to have a one-off game with their first team, (b) pleased to have bowled them out inside 8 overs instead of 16 overs, thereby saving on my player fitness levels, especially Daniels', further (although I went TIE) and (c) the wickets were 5 each to Ramsden and Livingstone, which will hopefully be maximum boosts for their experience.

bossing their PFL-weakened bowling at the moment.

End of Over 22: 159-1, runrate=7.23
Ryan 6-0-59-0
Rieger* 17 (18 balls)
Rautenbach 83 (75 balls)
Last Wicket: Scholes c. Lampard b. Denton 57 (FOW: 114/1)

Des doing his bit, but The Skip and Brucie have leaked a few

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Keep Licking that Cricketing Elbow

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 23: 96-3, runrate=4.17
Oconnor 5-0-13-0
Bushell* 42 (60 balls)
Felice 33 (39 balls)

Last Wicket: Tindall b. Middleton 4 (FOW: 19/3)

Mrs BB in a bit of bother now

DIBS DIPPERS v Pukka's Pies

Pukka's Pies won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 22: 107-5, runrate=4.86
Hayden 6-0-33-1
Shaw* 23 (34 balls)
Morgan 8 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Eagles lbw b. Hole 34 (FOW: 93/5)

All fairly brutal at the moment, though as I type Cooky departs.

End of Over 26: 187-2, runrate=7.19
Mcintosh 8-0-56-2
Curtis* 84 (57 balls)
Cook 63 (51 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham b. Mcintosh 28 (FOW: 52/2)

Need decent innings from 5 - 8 to support Cold Rod.

Ok, maybe Cold Rod won't need any support after all!

End of Over 27: 189-4, runrate=7.00
Attwood 4-0-24-2
Askew* 1 (2 balls)
Maymann 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Curtis b. Attwood 85 (FOW: 189/4)

End of Over 28: 124-4, runrate=4.43
Titterton 4-0-10-0
Carlisle* 68 (78 balls)
Prudie 0 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Pearce b. Tapp 0 (FOW: 123/4)

2 in 2 balls for Tappy!

:)

That's quality and (almost) wonderful batsmen taken out by a respectable 32yo in feeble form :fury:

End of Over 12: 66-2, runrate=5.50
Fallon 1-0-6-0
Curtis* 15 (13 balls)
Cook 12 (10 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham b. Mcintosh 28 (FOW: 52/2)

A green pitch on an overcast day always makes batting difficult.

How attacking were your batsmen set?

Attacking. I'm not complaining too much, I'd just rather they'd have fallen to a better bowler!

Nick is ticking along nicely despite losing Field, in particular Wikus who seems on a one man detsruction path:

29.3 2 Lane to Wikus
Outside off, dabbed wide of third man and they rush through for couple of runs.
29.2 2 Lane to Wikus
That should only have been one run, but lazy fielding by Ruddy allowed the batsmen to steal a second.
29.1 4 Lane to Wikus
Wikus manages to pick up the quicker one off his legs and flicks away for four.

End of Over 29: 166-2, runrate=5.72
Stapleton 8-0-54-1
Wikus* 34 (28 balls)
Anderson 56 (53 balls)

Last Wicket: Field c. Lane b. Stapleton 40 (FOW: 97/2)

28.6 3 Stapleton to Wikus
Wikus darts skillfully down the pitch and flicks that over the infield towards cow corner, a sliding stop for the fielder limits them to three runs.
28.5 4 Stapleton to Wikus
Hits it with the spin along the ground. Lovely shot and that's four. No need to run.
28.4 4 Stapleton to Wikus
Cut into a gap in the covers and the ball just wins the race to the rope.

No Bartlett, Barnett, Gamage, Plummer or Savage, only have 3 batters in and two worthless everything players.

End of Over 32: 177-8, runrate=5.53
Phahamo 6-0-46-2
Hicks* 3 (4 balls)
Downing 112 (98 balls)

Last Wicket: Edworthy c. Barrowdale b. Phahamo 0 (FOW: 174/8)

Wicket maiden for Raven. He seems to be a much better bowler when not opening, hence why Guy opening the bowling occurs so much! I'd love another out and out quickie and the next bowler i'll train up, it will definetly be an out and out opening bowler!

End of Over 32: 136-5, runrate=4.25
Raven 6-1-17-1
Carlisle* 72 (87 balls)
Antonius 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Prudie c & b. Raven 8 (FOW: 136/5)

Slowed right down, to be expected really. Would like these two to make it to over 40 and have a decent chance of racking up some in the last 10.

End of Over 34: 216-4, runrate=6.35
Fallon 7-0-46-0
Askew* 9 (23 balls)
Maymann 16 (22 balls)

Last Wicket: Curtis b. Attwood 85 (FOW: 189/4)

Could do with another wicket

Carlisle* 77 (95 balls)

Really grinding them down now. Jackman back on for overs 41, 43, 45, 47 and 49!

:)

161-5 with 10 to go. Under 200 would be superb. 220 i'd be content. 240 dissapointed and anything over that and i'll be peeved off.

Jackman will be expensive but is a wicket taker. Raven 10-2-27-1 is good but i need more wickets from him in that middle patch against these kind of teams.

Staring down the barrell of 260 here, which will be too many I think

Jackman takes 2 wickets in no time at all and Titterton also takes 2 to finish with figures of 2-29 off his 10 overs and leaves them 179-9 with still 6 overs to bat!
