Battrick - Match 1

BILLERICAY BLUE

Rose Tinted Brigade Member⭐⭐🦐
Welcome to a new season, number 7 !!

Good luck to all of our teams today especially the noobs, Loz, ORM and Naps.

I've got a bit of a decision to make and I'm after some advice. Today's game is against one of my rivals for the spots between 2nd and 7th, bearing in mind I play the team that will win the league next week, and will lose regardless, so I'll TIE that one, will GFI today do me too much damage??, or should I just PAN.

I'm playing against one of the lesser sides of my league at home, so desperately need a win. Could well be a close one though, particularly if my top 3 dont perform.

Playing the team that finished a surprising 4th last season having been promoted the season before. I'm on a TIE so it might not be completely routine however I'd be very disappointed if we failed to win.

I've decided to GFI mine, as I've got guaranteed TIE's for the next 2 weeks, so I've really got nothing to lose today. I think I might need it as well.

I've only used GFI a couple of times.

I'm basing this more on my experience of hattrick, where I consider the cost of doing it greater than the benefit of using it. My impression is that it has a smaller effect in battrick than in hattrick, but given my lack of use of it (eg in my play-off final!), I'm probably not the person to ask.

I do always try and TIE on my easier games though.

That's how to start!

0.2 6 Fleming to Cunningham
That'll come down with snow on it... six runs!
0.1 2 Fleming to Cunningham
The batsmen turn for the second as Leadbeater fields well inside the boundary. That was a risky decision as the ball reaches Morton's gloves not a second after Cunningham made his ground.

And we're off !!

Wootton v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We can tell you that Wootton won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloudy and humid day.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI v Inter Yerma

We can tell you that Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloud day

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Old Chelmsfordians v Will

We can tell you that Old Chelmsfordians won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloud day.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS v The Raple Guard

We can tell you that The Raple Guard won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloud day

Bugger. Guess who forget to change their default setting back to bowl after the 20:20 :-(
I thought that was strange for you to win the toss and bat !

I've gone GFI, in the hope of getting points ont he board early. i have the 2nd placed tema next week who I have no hope of beating and then 2 other TIE games with the cup games aswell. So hopefully I can rise again.

This game I have a decent chance of winning of GFI but slim to none on PAN or TIE. This is the team who finsihed 5th but they have a sensational Top order......

Mcconnell gets his season off to a flying start!

End of Over 7: 42-1, runrate=6.00
Fleming 4-0-26-1
Botham* 20 (16 balls)
Cunningham 20 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcconnell c. Darby b. Fleming 2 (FOW: 13/1)

Oh and as I type Cunningham has gone as well. This is not promising....

I don't seem to be able to access anyone elses teams, BB can you add Kev to your report please?

I don't seem to be able to access anyone elses teams, BB can you add Kev to your report please?
I don't seem to be able to get to him either. All the other games were set up as shortcuts earlier, which is why I can see them.

What the hell has happened to GBG?

Saj is taking charge:

Vosloo 1-0-13-0
Sajjad* 18 (12 balls)
Botham 27 (26 balls)

I forget to change my default back to bowling first if I won the toss. On a green pitch in humid conditions the last thing I wanted to do was bat first. Inter Yerma finished second last season, and have beaten me a couple of times, so I'm not that surprised.
