Battrick - League Match 8

Woo hoo!

41.2 W Botham to Makooi
Perfect line and length by Botham has resulted in a well deserved wicket.

One more to get and Maylett isn't getting a sniff of the ball :)

Cheers BB. You're doing a fantastic job as usual.

Looks like my experiment of pushing Ruddy up the batting order didn't work he only got 17. Still 216 which will hopefully translate in to 250 is a decent score on a cracked pitch. Only have one decent batsman after these 2 and then my tail usually only get 1 run between them so 225 is still on the cards!

Their strength is in their batting though so we will see if it is enough.

No probs, I actually quite enjoy it !

Last Wicket: Titterton c. Tuduwewatta b. Barnard 80 (FOW: 221/9)

Allardyce got a wicket each in his last 2 overs and opened the tail up and Titterton has just gone too!

Wise 148 (139 balls)

GO Wise GO!

He usually slows down when he gets to a ton as his stamina is only Comp. Must be their poor bowling.

How do people set their bowlers who can't bat? Do you set them to defensive Matthew Hoggard like night watchman in the hope they are there with a top order batsman or do you set them to very attacking like Darren Gough to grab the odd four before going out swinging?

My 4 bowlers never seem to score any runs average being 3 ducks and 1 between them. They are all abysmal rated.

Thoughts?

Sitting 2nd in the table, have a big game away to third. Forced to field first and managed to remove them all for just 129.

End of Over 11: 35-2, runrate=3.18, reqrunrate=2.44 (129-10)
Reynolds 6-1-13-2
Elliot* 19 (31 balls)
Coppinger 7 (27 balls)

Scoring runs is clearly not easy on the green pitch!!

I tend to set them to Defensive or Very Defensive in the hope that they can hang around with an established batsman.

You Beauty! More than I hoped for! I've set my Seamers to Attacking. Hopefully the cracked pitch will help get their top order out. They are pretty handy with the bat.

I think Wise's score is a new record for my team.

Is this a good score on a Green pitch? Is it enough with my bowlers?

End of Over 50: 256-5, runrate=5.12
Barnett 10-0-61-0
Boateng* 6 (4 balls)

I've found that if it's cloudy the seamers have a good day and 200 can be enough. My medium pacer loves green pitches on a cloudy day. However if its' sunny 250 is achievable. it will depend alot on your bowling attack. How many seamers you have and how good they are.
