Battrick - League Match 8

BILLERICAY BLUE

Rose Tinted Brigade Member⭐⭐🦐
Well, it's downhill from here to the end of the season.

Playing the side that is 4th who I beat by 10 wickets earlier in the season, reserves are out today, plus Schoeman and Evelyn lurking down the order just in case. Saving everyone else for the the big game in the BB household on Sunday !!

A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloud day.

Dhanjal 4-0-18-0
Thackeray* 27 (28 balls)
John 27 (20 balls)

All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloud day.

A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

Ruddy* 2 (4 balls)
Wise 27 (24 balls)

SZCC take on unbeaten league leaders Essex Javelins. They trounced us in the first game of the season mainly due to their star bat Maylett. He will be the key once again today however if we can't remove him, we'll hopefully be able to get rid of his partners:

End of Over 10: 34-2, runrate=3.40
Sutherland 5-0-19-2
Maylett* 17 (31 balls)
Kiely 4 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Gibb b. Sutherland 9 (FOW: 26/2)

Great first spell from Sutherland.

Well I'm having a very good day against former Shrimperzone team Pearlstars XI (I say former, as the team is now a BOT).

Runs building. Playing on a green top so don't want to be chasing too much, Sutherland has three overs left to make a breakthrough.

End of Over 24: 97-3, runrate=4.04
Sutherland 7-0-33-2
Maylett* 48 (63 balls)
Pitcher 24 (35 balls)

Last Wicket: Kiely lbw b. Sajjad 11 (FOW: 48/3)

I like your timing!
End of Over 27: 114-4, runrate=4.22
Botham 4-0-18-1
Maylett* 60 (70 balls)
Aujla 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Pitcher lbw b. Botham 29 (FOW: 114/4)

26.6 W Botham to Pitcher
Pitcher is not happy with that. Everything was wrong. It pitched outside leg and he got an inside edge, but the umpire's given him out. He might get a fine for waiting so long before walking off.

Well that's Sutherlands worst figures for sometime and I'm gutted he couldn't take Maylett out as I doubt anyone else will be able to. Need to get a couple of wickets at the pther end and expose the tail:

End of Over 30: 123-4, runrate=4.10
Sutherland 10-0-41-2
Maylett* 64 (76 balls)
Aujla 5 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Pitcher lbw b. Botham 29 (FOW: 114/4)

Mrs BB's "bore the pants off of them" tactics seem to be working again as her oppo is 138-0 off of 31.

Another breakthrough. One more to get and we should be able to clean up.

End of Over 33: 135-5, runrate=4.09
Mushtaq 7-0-36-0
Dawood* 2 (2 balls)
Maylett 72 (84 balls)

Im now 170-5 and currently trying to see off his useful spinner!

I'm having similar issues with his batsman!

Age: 20 Years Old

Looks like they're going to make it to the last 10 unfortunately:

End of Over 37: 150-5, runrate=4.05
Mushtaq 9-0-45-0
Maylett* 78 (95 balls)
Dawood 11 (15 balls)

Last Wicket: Aujla Run Out 7 (FOW: 127/5)

Don't fancy chasing anything above 200.

Mushie is doing well ...

;)

Im now 181-5 and there spinner just has a couple of overs left and then i have the last 10 to attack so 250 would be respectable!

Mushie is doing well ...
He's been **** all season. Only 49 from him is a result!

End of Over 39: 155-5, runrate=3.97
Mushtaq 10-0-49-0
Dawood* 12 (23 balls)
Maylett 82 (99 balls)

Last Wicket: Aujla Run Out 7 (FOW: 127/5)

Then this:

39.2 W Sajjad to Dawood
Advanced, picked up straight to Horrigan at mid on for an easy catch.

Maylett may well now run out of partners with Horrigan about to return.

Maylett may well now run out of partners with Horrigan about to return.
Tee and if you will, hee!

40.1 W Horrigan to Lapham
The ball rises off the length and it's a top edge. That's an easy catch for Askew.

40.6 W Horrigan to Fallon
Ball pitched outside off, Fallon attempts to cut, gets a thick inside edge and makes a mess of his stumps.
