Battle of the Sitcoms !

What about Man About the House; Mind Your Language; Please, Sir; On the Buses; Are You Being Served; 'Allo, 'Allo; Hi de Hi and Sorry? So, so many good programmes.

Like as not Mind your Language, along with Love Thy Neighbour will be considered racist these days.

I was never a fan of On the Buses, but all the others were all good calls.

Fluck me Kay.... none of those are anything but utter ****e.

Deary me, old - yes. Of their time - undoubtedly. But utter ****e? Surely you can't be serious!

:stunned: :nope:

Now if you want my opinion on utter ****e, look no further than the abysmal, toe curlingly unfunny, repetetive (it only had one joke!) Little Britain.

Yes I can and that's why I rate the Young Ones because it blew all those tired sitcoms with their lazy stereotypes away. And LB is another sketch show!

To be fair, I think they were racist in those days too!

Was watching Rising Damp on ITV3 the other day, and I must confess I didn't realise how racist that was too. Both RD and LTN had the same writer though, so no real surprise. He possibly wrote MYL too. Eric Chapple I think his name was.

The Young Ones is absolutely superb, but then I am a bit partial to Hi-de-Hi so who knows.

It ain't half hot mum?

But wasn't the point that they were showing up and mocking racism?

Not sure about this Paul, are you saying they're NOTHING but utter ****e, as that's not what this suggests - anything but suggests that in fact, you think they're brilliant and that I deserve a pat on the back for bringing them to your attention!

That's what I thought you meant - you need to watch where you put your "anythings" mate!

Will you two quit flirting and get a room...
