That could be classed as favouritism Blueblood, causing the same image to be shown again to attract votes!

OBL - I did try to find a nice picture of Richard Beckinsale, but couldnt find a decent enough one without his mullet.

Did the boys know that he is Kate Beckinsale's dad?!

Remind me Napster, where Frasier was shown, er, Channel 4? It's won more because back in the 70s there wasn't the over proliferation of award ceremonies and celebrity back patting that's gone on for the last 15 years or so! Oh, and the fact that it's American as well so they'd probably give the dog an award!

Forgive me for saying this, but there has been a proliferation of comedies in the US, as well as award ceremonies, and Frasier has consistently won them all.

Therefore your argument is patently nonsense.

And Channel 4 has supported the comedy format for a number of years, unlike the current dross on BBC1 and ITV (Green Green Grass, anyone?) - I don't see your point.

I don't see Rising Damp being shown in any other country?

In terms of the awards, Frasier won many of those whilst in direct competition with Seinfeld. It's not like they were up against 'Family Ties' every year.

Who?!

I'm not a massive fan of American comedies either - well some of them. Some American programs have a different sense of humour to some that are home made. I never got into Seinfield, i'm bored of Fraiser and Friends now (maybe because I watched them for so long and I just got fed up of them). I just dont find some American shows funny.

No, nor do I. King of Queens, Everyone Loves Raymond, Full House.

But that's because they're unfunny.

Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthuiasm and Frasier are just very, very funny and better than 99% of British sit-coms that the BBC/ITV/C4 churn out.

The first terribly naff American sitcom that came in to my mind. Sky One was full of them in its early days. 'Facts of Life' and 'Full House' would be two others.

Of course the Americans have made some poor sitcoms - but the very best American stuff (e.g. Seinfeld, Cheers, Frasier, CYOE) really is top drawer.
