Barry Fry and The Great Escape

Well, I don't want to say too much for fear of ruining the story, but you're heading in the right direction here.

I now have 80 minutes of glorious Barry Fry anecdotes to transcribe. This could take some time.

I'd like to hear Vic's version as well. Oh no, you can't. Still, Adams is still alive and the proud father of Chris Adams, the cricketer.

When can we expect to read the article though, anytime soon? :)

Sorry Class, it has to stay under wraps until the book comes out next August!

Its worth waiting for though, I assure you.

Next week I'll be speaking to Kevin Beattie about the 1978 FA Cup run with Ipswich. Join me then to pose your questions to the man Bobby Robson rated as, 'one of the all time greats.'

Oh ok, not to worry. Thought it was going to be similar to the Adrian Clarke one. Looking forward to the book though :D

Barry Fry lent his (substantial) weight to the "Return to the North Bank" campaign run by ShrimperZone (with the assistance of the Evening Echo) back in October 2002.

BARRY FRY joined forces with fans in their bid to reclaim the North Bank. The former manager admitted his success at Roots Hall might not have been so without the power of the North Bank. “We pulled off miracles when I was manager at Southend and the North Bank played its part,” said Fry. “When I first arrived at Roots Hall, the team were dead and buried and heading for Division Two, but we managed to get out of trouble and those passionate fans behind the goal made a huge difference. I’m sure that old North Bank, packed full of noisy fans, could make all the difference and help shout the Shrimpers back up the leagues.”
