Barry Fry and The Great Escape

Slipperduke

The Camden Cad
I'm meeting up with Barry Fry this lunchtime to chat about The Great Escape of 1993 for my forthcoming book, Football Fables, which I haven't plugged nearly enough yet.

Naturally, I'll be covering his arrival at the club, the hopeless task, the behaviour of Stan Collymore, the ridiculous turn around in form and then the final match against David Pleat's Luton.

However, is there anything else that needs covering? Any issues of the time that may have slipped my mind?

His running up and down the touchlines when we scored...

The broken glass he would have walked over to get to Southend and the broken hearts he trampled over when he left for Birmingham...

The heavy atmosphere and defeat he suffered on his return...

We know that when Barry returned to the Hall, there was a circus in the town and Barry was wearing a strange wig and comedy nose. Were the rumours about Karen Brady at that time also true and were Birmingham looking like a team destined for the drop?

obviously Slipper you have to take a professional, journalistic view..........but I hope you give him hell mate

Can you ask him why he bothered to build something special only to do everything possible to smash it back down again when he took our coaching staff and best players? Is he some kind of c**t? Lots of managers leave lots of clubs but few do so with such little class.

Ignorant bumbling clown mug.

What rumours, Hank?

:thump:

Sorry Slipper, I was referring to a song that used to be sung at the time.

"There's a circus in the town (in the town),
Barry Fry is a clown (is a clown),
Karen Brady is a ...................
Birmingham are going down"

Probably not the most sensible question in all fairness.

Apologies! I've heard so many rumours about KB that I thought this might be a new one!

Admittedly not about Fry himself, but I was always partial to the song:

"Birmingham City, Birmingham City,
Owned by a pervert,
Run by a Slut,
Birmingham City!"

Harsh, but amusing. And of course, untrue, for the benefit of Ms Brady's and Mr. Sullivan's lawyers......not that it's about them, obviously.

Please ask Barry how he got the massive greeny I flemed on the centre of his window after the cheeky **** had the balls to park his FRY 1 car in the Roots Hall car park about the same time he nicked Constantine.
