Barrett up front on Saturday ?

i should have guessed you would have been first to reply!

ok maybe he isn't the most prolific of strikers, but neither are hooper, harrold and mcdonald and seeing as foran has been in the goals (ablit the reserves) perhaps he is long overdue a couple of games up top

I would play Foran on sat, with Hooper

Hi everyone I am a new boy on the block.Have been reading your comments wirh amusement just thought I'd let you know in Barrats younger pre league days he was a very prolific goalscoring centre forward and certainly could not be worse than Harrold or Hooper. These two are the worst forwards I have seen in a long time everything breaks down when either of these two is passed the ball and the mere thought of these two being partners up front saturday fills me with horror.I have not missed a blues home game in 35years by choice but a mere hint of these two starting saturday may make me miss the game so I can watch paint dry.I think Tilly must be having an affair with these two because they keep turning up no matter how bad they play.Don't think we have anything to lose by partnering Foran and McDonald up front.Anyway enough of my rantings up the BLUES

can anyone answer me something you all love and addore matt harold and charlie mcdonald and to me are both very poor striking options, now you then all slag Foran, making slie digs etc, well come on statoes tell me when Foran has started in the roll he was signed for in more than 4 games on the spin??

fek me give the guy a chance, a run in the team honestly it really feks me off, Foran should be given a chance to be good or **** before you all mock the man, Harrold has been given chance time and time again, but ooooh you cant say anything against him ooooh no, mcdonald youve all got' those special feelings' about him but again load of old shiit. lets try something new
agree about foran but macdonald hasn't really had his chance yet

Foran was OK for Carlisle, but we're not a long ball team. Foran is a long ball player. You pump the ball up to him and he heads it on. That's not playing to our strengths as we've no-one whose game is feeding off those types of balls.

No doubt everyone will say what about Harrold, Harrold's game is more taking the ball down on his chest and feeding the midfielders, which fits in with our strengths (McCormack, Bailey and Gower getting forward from midfield).

I think Foran can be effective as plan B from the bench, I wouldn't want him to become plan A. Some of his starts towards the end of last season were truly horrific - anyone remember Col Ewe at home? It didn't matter he was playing out of position, he played like a drunk Drewe Broughton. I'd like to say that it was a one off, but it wasn't.

I saw him play for the reserves the other week and he looked very, very average. Mind you Charlie MacDonald didn't look any better either.

clap clap clap...........

I said at the time that Barrett should have had a run up front at the end of last season. He might not have the pace but when he's up there he makes more of a nuisense of himself than anyone else that we've got and with Eastwood injured at the time we badly needed a last desperate roll of the dice. But that's gone now, it's a new season we've got a crazy number of strikers in the squad and if Tilly & Brush can't find a combination out of Hooper, Harrold, Foran & MacDonald to get us through the next two games (surely the easiest two matches we'll have all season) then serious question marks have to be raised against the management. They've bought these guys, they've coached them, if they aren't good enough then frankly they are responsible.

would love to see barrett as striker just to see what would happen, even dare i say francis.......but agree that if this did happen then its like a big kick in the teeth for every other striker and is going to wreck their confidence.
