You cant expect us to dominate 90 minutes every game though. Doesnt matter what system we play there will be some passage in the game when the opposition are on top, doesnt mean the system isnt working.

I am hearing that Timlin will be ok so I'll expect us to keep the new Diamond formation or if you prefer 433 or even 41212. With Deegan suspended The only decisions I can see is the midfield. Who will replace the bearded one? both my choices have different qualities so lets see.

Bentley
White Bolger Prosser Coker
Timlin/Leonard
Leonard/ Timlin Wordsworth
Mooney
Weston Pigott

Didnt PB say that he swopped Deegan and Leonard over during the game last Saturday as Deegan wasn't quite doing the job PB wanted. On that basis, Leonard will play at the base of the diamond. Agree with the front three, although would be happy to see Worrall instead of Weston. That then leaves two places, if we play Timin and Wordsworth, both left footed. Does this leave the side unbalanced, or do you leave Weston up top, which i think PB will and maybe get Worrall back in the side.

A few people have said the same. Worrall does not fit into the current diamond. Weston is playing a far more central position and his pace allows us to clip balls over the top and 'turn' their CB's early on. Because a back four will be frightened to push high up the pitch It gives Mooney vital space, which he exploited well last Saturday.

The system is flexible. Vale were struggling to create much around the 60/70 minute mark so their fullbacks started to hug the touchlines. When Worrall came on wide left and Weston went wide right the change worked for us.... As in it stopped them pushing forward.

However 10 minutes is along time to see a game out and I like everyone else would love a second goal just to kill off any nerves. There were times when an easy square or through ball would have been better than the old corner flag routine. I've always thought the safest place to put the ball is in the other teams net.

You'd be happy to see Worrall over Weston even though Weston was one of our best players last week? Strange.

I agree. We were always looking to counter and did so effectively with the pace of western and his willingness to run the channels. Worall will have to settle for the last 20 mins at the mo and bide his time as western gives the other teams a big worry when he just holds his runs on the half way line.

If you quantify running around fast with little end product then fair enough. I don't remember him
putting in one decent cross and failed to hit the target on numerous occasions. The one good thing he did was miscontrol a ball that ended up at Wordsworth feet resulting in the cross and the goal. Nothing personal against Weston, but he is not good, quick yes, but that's about it.

There's two scenarios, if Timlin is fit then just swap Wordsworth for Deegan, with Lenny dropping back to the base of the diamond. If not, then Wordsworth in for Timlin and Worrall in for Deegan in a slightly different formation.

In for a tough game today I would've thought, Going for a tight 1-1 draw. But would love another home win and know we are capable. Come On Shrimpers!!:Worthy::happy::pig::happy:
