The team seem to be working very well at the moment and it would be good if they could get the extra support the efforts deserve.

Nice to see 6500 odd last Saturday but would be great to get over 7k for the game against Barnsley.

Deegan will be suspended and Timlin a big doubt.

Could be a great opportunity for the likes of Atkinson Payne wordsworth worall.

I think we are more than just making up the numbers and are playing some decent stuff.

Happy days

Yeah would be good to get 7,000 but it never always seems to work like that and the crowd could be lower than last week. Barnsley should bring more than Port Vale but I still cant see them bringing much more than 400.

As for away fans visiting Roots Hall this season numbers have been poor and not much better than League 2. Once again I bet Southend, Gillingham and Colchester will be right down the bottom as some of the least visited clubs in the whole Football League.

I don't know what to expect in terms of numbers from Barnsley. They are a big club and been getting 8k+ this season. You would like to think a club of that size would bring over 500 at the very least, but not many fans seem to like the trip to the hall.
In regards to our fans, I hope a few of the extra ones that turned up on Saturday was impressed with our football and come again this weekend.

the travel is not helped when the train companies make it difficult to travel the last leg and make you get off and take a bus... Makes it hard from Wickford let alone Yorkshire

Bentley
White Bolger Prosser Coker
Leonard Wordsworth Timlin
Worrall Weston Pigott

I don't mind Wordsworth in for Deegan , but would be disappointed if Mooney were dropped.
Thought he played well and linked play between midfield and the front two.

Any news on Hunt ?

I don't think Hunt will be fit for Saturday listening to Brown's interviews. I think he said he'd be out 'for a couple of weeks.'

I just think Worrall looked really threatening when he came on so that's why I'd give him the nod.

Just glad we've got some good options

Agreed, any travelling fans coming for further afield would be well advised to use the C2C if possible, little bit further to walk but much easier journey.

decision time.
every time i've seen us this season we've won. every time i've worn the 2012-2013 home shirt but it's starting to come apart. do i risk that shirt again? do i risk wearing another shirt? will my success run out if i wear my lucky shirt out?

It's ok, I'm sitting in the South Upper on Saturday and we have never lost when I have watched from there. Don't risk your shirt falling apart, it's getting a bit chilly

Absolutely not. Get it repaired, never heard of such a thing.:stunned:

Both of these posts have been bookmarked and will be used in evidence if we are unfortunate enough to lose on Saturday. Blame will be attributed.

You have to wear the shirt. A couple of seasons ago, I was still wearing thermals in April, as we'd not lost for ages since I'd been wearing them.

I was surprised to see them lose at home to Crewe at the weekend, and their away record doesnt look to great so far this season, however they have scored more goals on their travels then we have at the hall although they do seem to let a fair few in, so on that basis im gonna go for a 2-1 win to the blues.

Can see Alfie Mawson scoring in this one, probably feels he owes us one after the playoff final. Lump on lads.

2-1 Blues also!

On one of their fans forum, they have mentioned that they have sold 250 tickets so far, so I would imagine the final number of fans would be around 500 odd on the day.

Worth remembering that they played, and won, last night against Bradford in the JPT, so may be a couple of players with tired legs by the end.

I think Brown will replace Deegan with Atkinson, and if Timlin's out then possibly Worrall.

Online home ticket sales look pretty good at the moment. So if they bring 500 then we could be looking at another 6,500+ crowd.
Only Swindon have brought more than 500 in the League so far this season and I would imagine the average way support at Roots Hall this season is only about 350, which is not much better than League 2.
