PSD in the women's 400 hurdles is the main one to look out for (Green looks out of sorts in the men's).

If KJT had got closer to her PB in the Shot, I reckon she could have sneaked a medal... As it is, I reckon she'll finish 5th, which is a fair effort.

Think is the final of the men's 800 as well. Osagie is in the final, but I think he will always be a nearly man. Yanks looking strong.

Mo goes in the heat of the 5k in the morning, should be a parade for the final really

Yeah forgot about PSD, she looked strong in her heat today. Final for the 5000m isn't until Friday... seems quite a gap if the heats are tomorrow.

I agree with you re Osagie, although with the three medallists from London missing, this could be his best ever chance for a global medal. I think Nick Symmonds looks good for gold today.

The BBC coverage has got a whole lot better now Michael Johnson is back!

A lot of man-love for Johnson. I think my wife would break his 400m record to get at him!

Denise, Gabby and Paula are all looking rather lovely too.

This Womens haptathalon is a great fight for Bronze..

Schippers 3rd on 5492 points
Ida 4th on 5481 points
KJT 5th on 5450 points
Rath 6th on 5444 points

For me, Rath is most likely to get the bronze, as her 800 meters is far faster than the other 3, but second fastest is KJT, and if she can get anywhere near her PB (and her running has been going well), there is a very very slim chance of bronze for her.

My predicted final placing for these 4 is..

Rath 3rd (circa 6410 points)
KJT 4th (circa 6370 points)
Ida 5th (circa 6340 points)
Schipps 6th (circa 6330 points)

1st and 2nd look out of touch of these 4

Especially Denise. What a gal.

Blimey, Schippers has knocked 7 seconds off her PB to hang on to bronze there!

Sadly the 3 seconds KJT knocked off hers wasnt quite enough, finishes 5th, 28 points off bronze

A good platform for future successes though. Should be bang in contention for a medal at the Euros next year (in Zurich)

True. That said, the Euros will be just as tough as the worlds, as most the top Heptathletes all seem to be European!

Osagie's run was predictably unspectacular, leaving it too late to trouble

Good point actually. Apparently there's another British heptathlete who's meant to be quite good too. Jessica something or other?

Greg Rutherford with an early exit in the long jump. He really isn't any great shakes, but was the best man on the day at the Olympic Final. A good time to reach your peak! I know he has been injured, but this performance is more of a reflection on his abilities - a decent athlete who got lucky.

Compare him to Colin Jackson, a true great of his sport but who only ever managed one silver at the Olympics. Funny old game...

Yeh, he has always been a bit of an under-achiever in a sense, but then again, he has more often than not suffered with injuries most seasons. Fortunately for him, he went through 2012 without injury, and showed just how good he can (albeit against a somewhat average field)

Good morning for Okoro and Williams, not so much for Judd. Shame that, as she has ran much better times on a number of occasions this year. Great natural ability, but just needs to work big race tactics i guess. Still reckon she'll get gold at some point in her career at a WC or Olympics.

Talking of Olympics, just over 3 weeks until the 2020 host is announced (Istanbul 13/5, Tokyo 1/2 or Madrid 5/1)

Can't see Spain being able to afford it, so is a two horse race really!
