I read that book about football scouts a few years back, and I remember the author mentioning AW was a player loads of big teams looked at as a youngster as they could all see he had the talent to play at the top level, but all came to the conclusion he didn't have the work ethic to match his talent. Hence a career in the lower leagues. But hey, he still lived a dream we'd all like to have lived football-wise.

Player A.... coasts back 60yds at 85%. The whole time he is ball watching play out on the left so does not see his opposite number has stopped just out side the D and receives pulled back pass. Has time for touch and slots it home with player A dipping a toe in the bath rather than closing the space and blocking the shot.......See Wordsworth or Mantom

Player B only cover 50 Yds at 95% because he is aware of his opposite number. So that pulled back pass never happens, gets blocked or player B wins a tackle.....See Cat Miley

A covered 10yds more than B....So unfortunately stats about ground covered prove absolutely nothing......Nor does personality of the player or even his looks OBL. :Winking:
You're comparing an attacking midfielder, a playmaker, with a defensive. Cav is more of a Ryan Leonard, without the frequency of goals. You're just backing up what I said, that we've not had a player of Woody's quality since he left, and we've certainly not had a midfielder come anywhere near his goal total.

I am confused? which of those type is which?
WW might be attacking midfielder? Cav a defensive playmaker ? Mantom a space occupier?

Woody was an attacking CM, both Lenny and Cav defensive. They could all do aspects of the other. Mantom was also supposedly an attacking CM.

Oli Coker is trending in the right direction in this regard. Wordsworth scored 19 in 87 appearances for us; Coker currently has 8 in 46 games.

In terms of goals per minute, Wordsworth netted a goal every 353.53 minutes (a smidgeon under a goal every four games); Coker’s have come at a rate of a goal every 330.25 minutes, so around a quarter of a match quicker.
