I heard the Times tennis correspondent Neil Harman (with whom I shared a classroom many years ago) on Radio 5 a little while ago. He made much the same point as MtS. He is a rather immature but gifted 19 year old who made one silly statement. He has retracted that statement and his last pronouncement on English football was entirely unobjectionable. His interview after his defeat was piercingly honest about his own failure to live up to expectations. To continue to gloat over his failures, and to wish him ill, demonstrates a bigger immaturity than Murray was accused of himself.

For heaven's sake, give it a rest now.
