The problem with these type of sites is they probably get paid by the number of click throughs from the advertisers. As a small club, to generate a decent number of hits, he has to put up stories to keep people interested. If these stories also get picked up by the press, they earn a few bob extra.

Not Vital Football Rumours but the other Football Rumours rubbish website has a bit about Southend United dealings at the bottom of its page today. Can't be bothered to post the link, but the site is football-rumours.co.uk I think, if you want to look yourself.

From memory it says that Bailey is Palace or Charlton bound for £500k

Gower is off to Leicester (managerless Leicester)

Flippy-Flappy Flip-Flop is going to Northampton for £70k

Simon Francis to Palace for £200k

Anybody coming in will be on a free.

Looks like one of those rare occasions where something on that site has been posted with a bit of knowledge.

They've just reported that ShrimperZone board member Wiggy has been appointed direct of football and will have the final say on incoming and outgoing transfer dealings.

It promises to be an entertaining summer at RH with experienced GK Darryl Flahavan already given a 10-year contract at a not too shabby 5k a week.

Sources close to Cole say that he didn't fancy a life in Essex and playing for a small club at this stage of his career. Wages are also thought to have been a major stumbling block.

The source spoke with Vital and said 'Andrew didn't fancy living in Essex and playing for a small club, also his wage demands could not be met'

Even if their rumours are not always true, at least you can admire their journalistic talents.

Danny I am really sorry to here that sad news.

I thought you did a great job with all your stories (shame Vital have now deleted them all). Some of your rumours/stories were fanastic fantasy, some of them with some truth in them. They were all very humourious, and said with tongue in cheek sort of way, and gave us all a very good laugh. (Just read some of the posts in this thread).

The last Col Ewe one was right on the money, and I am sure there was some truth in that story. ;)

So, do not let all your research and contacts go to waste, why don't you start your own thread on here? I am sure the owners/mods would allow it?

It is about time we all had somethng to laugh at each day, and you certainly provided it.

Good player Daniel Fox he almost signed for Colchester but Coventry pipped them to him last minute. Don't think he would sign for us as he has done pretty well for Coventry.
