When we have used either a box or the halfway lounge,it's so refreshing not listening to some of the fans shouting their garbage,no swearing and sensible debate it was brilliant.

If we had the cash then that is the only way to watch pro football.

Opposite I prefer being in the crowd with moaning swearing and all, never been to the halfway lounge. been in the box did not think much of it, been to MILLWALL and their boxs are so much better and you can actually open door + sit outside (then again it is a much newer ground than roots hall) I use to prefer standing in the terraces

When we did away games we thought the fans that travelled were excellent in their knowledge and support of the guys,at the Hall however it's a mixed bag hence why we don't have ST anymore.

Only recently we were in the East and just before ko two blokes with dirty smelly burgers sat next to us,being fair the club burgers look and smell terrible yet these 2 hogs swallowed them virtually whole in double quick team whilst talking which meant bits of burger was being sprayed within a radius of square mile, they then shouted every word under the sun.

I know many people who have stopped attending RH because of continual bad experiences in the stands They are smart enough to realise that the football isn't always going to be the best but they can't put up with some idiot abusing players who have to pass back to the keeper or hit the odd long ball out of play.

Its about time we stopped this myth that it happens at all clubs. I regularly sit in the main stands at away matches and you can see how a home team can be affected by their own fans. Best so far this season were Coventry and they came from behind and really pressured us. Worst were Crew and Crawly straight on the players backs and they barely got into the match in the first 45.

To be honest, this is the main reason I (aswell as many others, I guess) prefer away matches. Everyone's gone to the trouble of seeing them play, so they seem to back the lads to the hilt

Hmmm, I've witnessed plenty of abuse and vitriol at away games....

We stopped attending away games when Tilson was stitched right up and lost his job, those days we had superb away days and rarely heard silly remarks toward our players.

Agreed, some can be pretty classic and liven things up.
At Chesterfield a few seasons back, in the snow some lads had drunk too much and spent all game being wind up ***** BUT when we scored (a robbery!) they ran on the pitch and dived in the snow-much funnier when it happened - they got ejected etc however after the goal that was about the 2nd high point of the full game.
And at Scunny we were two down and very poor, another been drinking tit was gobbing large and there was a tiff, the twit left the stand, the match, and then we turned it ON, Egan and JW goals in front of us and a draw that felt like a win, memorable for the deep deep low and then the 2nd half rampage.
All that aside I do love an awayday that has happy times and would fore go the tits/twits and potty mouthed ones.

You can't beat an away day. I'm currently sitting opposite a guy on the train wearing a Leyton Orient polo-shirt and has reminded me of Jimmy Walker's belter of a goal in the 96th minute. I was so ill that day but I couldn't miss it for anything and I'm glad I didn't. Felt like we had won, was an unbelievable feeling!

Tilly would tell you to support the football club! Managers come and go. Rightly or wrongly.

Isn't this a thread about moaning and you are NOT moaning!:nope:
How was you after Sheff game? I felt we had it at 2 nil, blew it at 2-2 and lost it until 85th min when we could have snatched it - full switches of emotions and lots of twists - full value away day for sure.
