Alan McCormack

Vange Shrimper

Mrs Rock God
Dont know if it's been mentioned already but he's now signed for Dagenham and Redbridge. Heard this from a couple of Dagenham fans over the past couple of days but can't seem to see it yet on the BBC or Dagenham website. Might be on there over the next couple of days.

haha one of the rudest players i have ever met when we was trying to chat with him at the end of seaso do he was talking french to Christophe and luarent and just blanked us then said something the guys looked away and laughed and you could tell he said something about us lol dont worry my drunk mate gave him a what for and he said sorry then walked off ever since then i hate the guy, Simple

The way he through his kit at the fans at his last game, the look on his face was as if he was handing dog s**t , lost what little respect I had for him.

Anthony Grant > McCormack
Lee Sawyer > McCormack
Kane Ferdinand > McCormack

....We've moved on from him, thank goodness.

completely agree with this. Although none of them have scored as sweet at volley as that one at Preston away

He was a good player a few years back. Sadly either injury or lack of fitness did for him. In his last season for us he was toilet

What he said.

After that injury he never regained his fitness properly. Whether that was partly his own fault i do not know. I find it fickle how he is only remembered for his poor last year for us. I dont remember anyone taking digs at him when he banged in 2 away at Macclesfield, when he signed for us in the Championship and massively improved our form or the season we made the playoffs when he scored a lot of goals.

Saying that i wouldnt swap him for any of our midfield now :-)

I lost all respect for him when he buggered off on holiday during the season, telling the club it was a family bereavement.

Tilly definitely thought he was playing up the injury issue. Yes he was excellent when he first joined (on loan, and then permanently). That made his decline in performances and attitude even more frustrating

If you're talking about the incident in his last season here then that isn't exactly what happened from what plenty of people 'in the know' have put on here. He missed a day or two's training, with the club's permission, to attend a family wedding. We'd already been relegated at the time.

Of course if you're referring to a second incident then that is different.

I don't like the way people are in the main only remembering the bad stuff, the fact he's being criticised for giving kit out in his final game should be commended...I certainly didn't see any look on his face as described, and it was something he and other players used to always do in the final match. He was a good servant of this club and was part of an excellent midfield partnership with N***y B****y, which scored 20 goals that season, with him getting 9 of them. The incident Ayrshire refers to, which I am pretty convinced is the one Beefy covers has been done to death. He was given permission to attend, and why shouldn't he? Sometimes your family IS more important than playing a game where your club is pretty much consigned to relegation. He continued playing through that awful period when players weren't getting paid and gave of his best, the fact that that was not as good as his pre-injury best was hardly his fault. I'd also say that the Charlton fans were initially pleased with him, again, it was when their season began to go wrong that he started to get blamed for stuff and as we know, he plays a lot better when the crowd is with him rather than against him. This is a player you're all criticising who, when we played Charlton last season, took time to go around the stands at the end of the game and give his salute to OUR supporters. If he's gone to Dagenham (and I've seen nothing yet to confirm this) then I wish him well, he'll know he's not the player he was and will now just be wanting to continue playing for as long as possible. Give him that courtesy, please.

100% agree with you, a fine player and when he and Bailey were on song one of the best ever midfield partnerships we've had at the club, a success story for T&B in bringing them both here in the first place.

I can't believe some of the things written about Alan Barrett in this section as well. Very short memories.

So short that they forget player's names :whistling:
