I fail to believe that the team travelling by train on game day is
A) Cheaper than the coach and hotel
B) Great for the player and performance

Got to be at least £100 pp on the train and a lot of gear to transport

Coach is say £30pp and hotel if sharing maybe £50pp

I am all for cost cutting but this is ridiculous

I still have no idea where the **** an actually is.
And probably rearranged for a mid-week evening game will mean a lot less fans travelling.

It could be a Saturday day game of course if we don't go on one of those mazy cup runs that we are so used to in recent years .............
With how our luck is going, we’d be drawn away to Fylde anyway.

Assuming the players won’t eat anything the night before?

No issue with travelling by train but come on ffs less than 5 hours before ko is absurd. Yes **** happens but at least go for like an 8am train or something to allow for any hold ups. Nobodies fault just would have thought that’s common sense?

Agreed but have you ever managed a large group of 20-30 year olds on a trip like this? I certainly haven’t. I suspect it’s a balance and I’d as always assume that the management team after a lifetime in football have probably got a more accurate feel for it.

Imagine that 8am train gets them to the area for 10.30am. All good but you’ve got a large group literally hanging around for four and a half hours to kick off.

Early start, restless players. Recipe for disaster.

My Heart goes out to those who have spent their time and money on a wasted trip, for them it's unfortunately a disaster. For the team, It may well not be such a bad thing. Following such a turbulent week It gives more time to calm down, integrate the new boys into the squad and, why not bring a couple more in, before we head up North again?
