Typical, we get a train company as shirt sponsors then get ****ed by the trains, you couldn't make it up.
Don’t you mean OasisSurge pricing means hotels are a lot more expensive when Southend United are in town.
The difference being that we would now pay the hotel bill.Blimey are times that tough?? Even under Ron we would go up the night before and stay on a hotel? Didn't realize we are now sending the squad on a group save on the day
Exactly, lots of videos of Everton players getting abuse at the train station recently.Seriously so many people talk out of their backside ! Train travel on the day is part of many teams approach to match day travel 'tinpot' Premier ones aswell! A lot of players would appreciate not having an overnight away and a quicker journey home, a change is as good as a rest.
Cutting the overhead lines so you wouldn't miss out on the game was a bit excessive though mate
No, were a mid table non league club that’s losing money but one that has a much more positive future ahead now we’re trying to operate within our means.
Yes. You know how far we’ve fallen when we start getting new players in that would normally go to Dagenham & Redbridge
I fail to believe that the team travelling by train on game day is
A) Cheaper than the coach and hotel
B) Great for the player and performance
Got to be at least £100 pp on the train and a lot of gear to transport
Coach is say £30pp and hotel if sharing maybe £50pp
I am all for cost cutting but this is ridiculous
FFS tickets in advance are not £130. But even if they were with a group saver that would likely be cheaper than overnight coach travel as you’d need to hire a coach and drivers for two days.Group saver is 3rd off but if tickets are £130 in advance then it makes little difference.
Should get a good group discount on the train plus maybe with C2C sponsoring there's an additional discount?I fail to believe that the team travelling by train on game day is

It's both clubs.... so is that 2 free drinks?
Isn't Cav a sparky? Is he on the train? Where was he when train lost power?
I was thinking more of sabotage than fixing it!Turns out he (Cav) didn't have the foresight to bring his tools with him. [forehead slap;shake of head]
Travelling on the day means players get to sleep in their own beds and stick to their usual routines for longer. That’s usually considered to be a positive for performance. How is sharing a hotel room with a snoring teammate good for performance?
Travelling by train will be much better for performance. It’s usually a quicker journey than by coach, you’re less likely to get travel sick, there’s more leg room and you can stretch your legs.
It’s unfortunate that on this one occasion the train broke down. That happens to coaches as well.
