42 Days Detention

As ever, sensible thinking.

For what it's worth, I think 42 days is too long. If you cannot build a case for charging an individual within 28 days then the authorities are not doing their job properly.
 
I remember going to the states about 10years ago, and I got interregated as I went to Turkey on holiday the year before. They wernt gonna let me in. They're the biggest bleedin terrorists...
Will I get 42 days detention when I return to live in UK next year?

They questioned me severely a few years ago because I had a Jordanian stamp in my passport. They just didn't want to believe that I might want to go to the middle east on holiday...!

I think the 28 day rule is adequate, however, I have no problem with their being the right to appeal in exceptional circumstances for up to 42 days if necessary. I appreciate these circumstances would need some kind of definition, something along the lines of there must already be positive proof of involvement and not just a suspicion.
