On a more serious note those who take this argument to its extreme (i.e. the PC brigade thinking their helping by denying people the right to think for themselves, and the far non-pc brigade mistaking "ignorant" opinion with, their right of free speech), mostly have far to much time on their hands. An over inflated self worth, married quite a large Inferiority complex .....

The reason that Freddy gets stick is because he is a quality footballer so if anybody is offended perhaps they should think of it as a back handed complement to the player. Also the stick Freddy gets is nothing to the well deserved abuse Ronaldo receives, ok a tad controversial but hey I have a longer memory than Rooney and am less forgiving.

IMHO neither should be viewed as racist regardless of what the PC brigade and indeed the law says though I find it hard to believe that the law is black and white on this matter.

I think that you'll find that many people would stop attending games if policing became that heavy handed and draconian. Plenty of real criminals out there for the police to catch last time I looked.

as it is widely acknowledged that inbeeding is a part of life in the north Essex town (allegedly) then you are free to say that they are inbreds (for which you cannot be charged with scandal) or if you prefer write it down (for which you can't be charged with libel)
