Blues can confirm a number of changes to our fixture schedule for the 2023/24 Vanarama National League season.

Both festive matches against Barnet have been rescheduled. The double header begins with a Boxing Day clash in Essex, and that game will now kick off at 1pm.

We were due to travel to The Hive on New Year’s Day, but that has been changed to Saturday, 30 December at 3pm.

Our away game against Dagenham & Redbridge will no longer be televised on TNT Sports. The kick-off time switches from 12:30pm to the original slot of 3pm.

Fixture Changes – New Kick-Off Times

Saturday, 12 August – Dagenham & Redbridge v Southend United – 3pm
Tuesday, 26 December – Southend United v Barnet – 1pm
Saturday, 30 December – Barnet v Southend United – 3pm

Really wouldn’t surprise me if the police have had an involvement in this, not wanting a 5.30pm kick off with how volatile fixtures have been over the past few seasons?

Or the broadcaster is being cautious incase they are one team short to play the fixture. I guess they can't take the risk.

It was 5:30. Although I doubt the late kick off time was the reason. It makes sense for TNT Sports to change it to another game given there’s still uncertainty as to whether we’ll be in the league.
