£1.5M or £2M received for Mr. Eastwood....

Transparency in football??

That would be the day!

Nah seriously I get your point mate, I think we would all like to know what happened/is happening to the money but hey RM isn't a fool so I'm sure its being used wisely.

Rob's had a great point in all this though. Without a doubt the most powerful and influential people in football are our good selves. .

Thats the same in EVERY single industry and business on the planet.

Go ask Microsoft or Odeon what they are doing with the profits they make...

Biffo I don't want 'guess' 'thought' etc. I'm 51, been through the hoop and back in many apsects of life.

I want transparency in the club I have supported for 41 years.

If the board say to me (us) " THe Eastwood money has paid off the Inland Revenue" then fine!

Then i fear your looking for the holy grail old chap.

I'm not sure about that.

"Fee undisclosed".

Try that buying petrol like that at Tesco!

But here is the crux........Nobody would refer the microsoft or the odeon as 'we'. It is an indication of how enamoured football fans are with their respective clubs that we do so. If you choose your club well ( as a businessman) and impose a strict wage cap, then it must be amazing to be able to serve up crap for ages but still have a hardcore of your customers paying week in..week out irrispective of the product and tied to no contract at all. So that does/should make football club company's a special case that certainly cant be echoed in any other walk of business.

To keep this Analogy running..Wolves (an entertainment supplier) purchase an asset from Southend (another supplier) for an Undisclosed amount

Tesco (a fuel supplier) purchase an asset (Some fuel for example) from Esso (another supplier) , would you expect Esso to advise (outside of normal accounting procedures) their customers how much they had received ?

As for the ambition comment earlier, The plans for the new ground , to me, show an ambitious club. The spending of funds quickly ,just because we havegot a bit of money, doesn't

One of the reasons we have not had a visit to the High court for a few years and are in a position to paln for a new stadium etc is RM's financial prudence. That is long term ambition in my mind....

Personally, I'd give our current crop of strikers the chance to prove themselves and then assess the situation again in January. Between Harrold, Paynter, MacDonald and Hooper (and possibly Foran), I think Tilly is capable of finding a decent partnership to get us some goals and keep us in and around the top six.

Agreed. I would really like to see a new striker but after the 2 Pre-season games ive seen so far I have no doubt that our current crop of strikers can do a decent job.

Obviously we’ve yet to see them against better opposition so only time will tell.

They all look like they have something to prove now Freddy’s gone.

Exactly.

Remember we're at a lower level this year. We didn't have Harrold or Paynter in league one last time and i think we'll see better performances from them at this level.

Anyway, we have a replacement for Freddy, McDonald. Okay, he might not be as good from what we've seen but give the guy a chance. Freddy is never really going to be replaced because he was such a hidden gem.
