some games tonight that can help us close the gap, IF we beat aldershot of course.
Rochdale v halifax.
Hartlepool v Altringham.

We need Hartlepool and Halifax to win, I think. It would also be good for Sutton to beat Gateshead.

But, of course, we need to beat Aldershot, and convincingly because our goal difference needs boosting.

The NL 4th v 7th and 5th v 6th playoffs can be as quick as Thursday 8th and Friday 9th May depending on the FA Trophy finalists. The next games can then be the following Tuesday.
This would enable a play off final to be on the Sunday 18th May at Wembley. It would be a tight schedule but they have done that before.

It makes playing the final games on the Monday 5th May rather than the free Saturday 3rd May even more of a strange decision. Maybe they wanted a free Saturday in case some teams needed to catch up on postponed games.
NL play off final can't be Sunday 18th May as that's the Womens FA cup final that day.

Really have no idea when or even where it could be. There doesn't seem to be a free date at Wembley.

Anyway it's unlikely to be our problem!

Lets hope at least one drops away as usual and if they compete a lot against each other

Not sure Altrincham will fade . They looked such a good young pacey side av age 24. Mind you dabbled with 16 loanees in a squad of 31 with lots of comings and goings
Goal difference big as well at 16. Our Current 4 strikers have 6 goals in 80 appearances.
Linney for Altrincham 18 goals in 27 appearances
, Our leagues second top scorer bought on a modest fee from FC United of Manchester .of Altrincham They also have a game in hand on us and 6 points clear, Not sure they will drop away
Halifax next up then
Would be tragic if we missed it again by one point !!

Nine wins from the last 14 to get a play off place I would say

Possible? Yes
Likely? Not so sure

I think we will just fall short but hopefully with a settled summer and some good transfer business, we will be up there next season.

OK, where will those 9 wins come from?

Tamworth Away 1point
Yeovil Away 3 pts
Woking Home 3 pts
Altrincham Home 1 pt
FGR Away 0 pts
Eastleigh Away 0 pts
Boston Away 3 pts
Oldham Home 1 pt
Sutton Away 1 pt
Solihull Away 0 pts
Braintree Home 3 pts
Ebbsfleet Away 3 pts
Wealdstone Home 3 pts
Gateshead Away 0 pts

6 wins. Total 22 points rather than 27.

My predictions are rarely accurate 🙂

We certainly have to stop dropping points in very winnable games. I.e. Maidenhead away, Rochdale at home. If we don’t win at Tamworth that just proves the point.
I think we’re currently just short of play-off quality. That said it’s possible form will improve as the new boys pick up fitness and get more used to each other. The next 3 or 4 games will tell us a lot as to whether we can seriously threaten the playoffs or not.

We’ve already done Solihull away and tonked them. I’d hope to beat them at home, especially if their poor form continues. I’d also hope to see us beat Eastleigh away having already beat them twice this year. There you go, 28!

8 wins - 27/42 points. 73 points

Had 25 points out of our las 42.

You’re in cloud cuckoo land if you think we’re making the playoffs. We make hard work of beating the poorer teams in the division but often manage it as we have far better players than them. Against decent sides we struggle. It will be the same this season and next unless change is made.
So we struggled to get 2 wins over Halifax, and a win and a draw against Rochdale then....
