Agreed. Which is phenomenal for the 5th tier.It would be great if we did pass 5k, but realistically I think it will be somewhere between 4-5k.

Colchester ?Thanks for that - do you (or anyone) know what the current capacity of the East Stand is, considering it will hopefully be replaced and at least those 1.4k season ticket holders will need to find a temporary home soon...

It may have over 2,500 seats, but in reality only around 1,800 of those can be sold currently. The current capacity of the East stand i believe is around 2900
You say that, but the amount of people from the Southend area regularly going to West Ham games is easily more than our average home support.Since the move to the Olympic Stadium there are many many more ex West Ham STH who now boast a STH at Roots Hall instead.
That is a good effort by their standards, to be fair.Colchester United got excited that they sold double their season tickets to over 2’300 since May.
By that reckoning, most of their fans have season tickets. Where can they source any extra fans from? Surely their catchnemt area is much like ours but with Ipswich being the “pull” rather than Spurs, West Ham etcColchester United got excited that they sold double their season tickets to over 2’300 since May.
A friend of mine who supported the Hammers for many many years was also a ST holder but gave it up about 4 years ago and is now a ST holder in the East Blacks. He told me there was a big group of them back in the day that all sat together for many years both at Upton Park and the Olympic stadium(?) but gradually due to so many issues, the atmosphere, getting home after matches especially night games and Sunday matches when you had to leave early, refreshment prices etc. Well he told me that the group he use to sit with is now down to just two ST holders and the only reason is as they are pensioners they still get a season for around £600 (not 100% sure of the price) but that works out at around £30+ per match but my friend who gave his ST up and is almost 70 told me when he went to a game towards the end of last season against Leicester City he was still able to sit with his mates near to his old seat but had to pay around £70 which is the adult price.Since the move to the Olympic Stadium there are many many more ex West Ham STH who now boast a STH at Roots Hall instead.
Perhaps the credit lenders applied the "once bitten twice shy " knowing it was Southend United even without the dynamic Ron Martin at the helm.Oh by the way I guess the paying by instalments option was explored and deemed “not viable” ..
Ipswich and Braintree - both bigger draws are right on their doorstep.By that reckoning, most of their fans have season tickets. Where can they source any extra fans from? Surely their catchnemt area is much like ours but with Ipswich being the “pull” rather than Spurs, West Ham etc
There are plenty of Spammers and Spurs fans in the Colchester area also. The only places where you don't find them is in Newham or Tottenham.By that reckoning, most of their fans have season tickets. Does anyone know when the season ticket cards will be available to collect? Wasn’t clear online! Thanks
