If that's the order then it doesn't sound like data analysis is the issue since that's one of the first steps, given Cashman has been rumoured for a while the analysis could have finished weeks ago.

It sounds more like the issue is that too many people that can't be got a hold of quickly need to sign off on a transfer, that's where things need to be made more efficient.

Or what happens when the player wants x on a 3 year contract and two on the committee are ok and two aren’t? Or even two are and one isn’t and says no I don’t agree it’s way too much- I will only agree to Y- does it go to a vote, does it need to be unanimous, can one member black ball the deal?

I just cannot believe a pro football manager would go on twitter to see basildon blue bob talking about cashman and (having never heard of him before) stick a bid in for lols.

Every manager in the lower leagues knows all about cashman i can guarantee that.

Genuinely cant understand what data was needed this late in the day to confirm he is a good player, and why said data took anything more then 10 minutes to look at.

I expect as usual it came down to either
1. League status
2. Cash
3. Location.

But if it didnt maybe we need to upgrade our carrier pigeon for the data.

After the latest mini transfer market for EFL and Prem clubs closed, the new Summer transfer market opens up on Monday until Deadline day on 1st September.
Although not favoured by us, I will be interested to see if we do stretch our necks just a little bit further into the season long loan market at some point, and preferably earlier on if possible, although clubs above. tend not to have the clearest picture as to who they will release out until later into the event

Only 18 Nat league transfers conducted in June to date This time . I dont think somehow this time we will be told we are waiting for the benefits of the transfer closure in September. so that we could watch this space around mid October !?

I believe our first signings from last summer wasn’t until early July so got fair bit of time until then at least .. I’m sure we get one or two through the door let’s hope for next week

I mean I agree however it doesn’t appear we can actually get a signing over the line because of too many people involved in a decision. ITKs confirming that we could have had this tied up already for Cashman is a real disappointment and whoever is holding this up should hold their head in shame. Even Ron would have got this over the line in the circumstances in the weeks prior to Cashman going elsewhere.

Oh 100% very disappointing I agree annoying for everyone involved especially when they all think it’s near enough done .. I dread to think how Maher and coaches feel about it all and the process .

True, but they were Walker and Gubbins, and being polite, they haven’t exactly made much of an impact. It was suggested this was due to the embargo and us not being able to get our identified targets.

Now it seems as if a protracted ‘dither and delay’ transfer process, dressed up as the other DD, means there’s a chance we’ll miss out on targets yet again (confirmed to be the case for at least one top target). If we haven’t signed anyone by July I’ll be very concerned, and I reckon Kev would be too.

First chance to catch up on here today, wish I hadn’t. Would Cashman been a great signing, probably yes. Did we want him? Yes. But we are unlikely to be able to compete with an EFL side unless we through loads of money at him which we obvs won’t do. So we move on and look at the next target. People need to chill

I would rather we take our time and get the right players this time round rather than rush and not get what we want

They could have got the deal over the line before the other club expressed an interest.
