Breaking News Joint Fundraiser with Southend United/The Trust and TBV

Spectacular. Well done everybody. What i like about it, other than the obvious emotional attachment and imagery, was the fact that we showed ourselves to be top notch once again, to back up the 29k fans attending to support the team and club. Nothing tinpot going on here, nothing at all, quite the opposite. Another example of club and community getting together and winning.

Was a fantastic memory to get pitch side at Wembley with my son on the tifo crew so really pleased to see the massively positive reaction.

Think a massive shout out needs to go to Liam Ager and Sam Duckworth on the day for getting a supporters crew together with about an hours notice on the day.
At 1410 I was in Block 111 when Liam came charging down the aisle gathering bodies, by 1440 with a dash through the concourse adding a few more bodies, security had been negotiated, not easily..., wristbands issued and we were pitch side behind the tifo and the slide out. By 1450 all briefed and ready to go. By 1502 back in our places, which had been taken and involved steward intervention to get back but that's another tale...

Hats off to those two guys who really pulled it together and to everyone who answered the call, not a single body said no when asked and became a team in a few moments.

We were comparing heart rates at the end on our watches, mine was about 105, several were in the 130+ area, talk about an adrenaline rush!

Pity about the result but not that long ago we were drafting press releases to mourn the death of our club and the launch of a phoenix, to get to a Wembley Play Off Final has to be seen as a remarkable achievement in the cold light of day.

I thought that too - but don't we have advertising there? - so would reduce income.

Yeah this.

Rember years ago we used to have lots of flags draped over the South, but they had to remove them due to the advertisements being blocked.

@Liam AAS will let you snip it and share for Sam!!!

Big up @TBV_Dan for pulling this together in a week. Bloke has gone above and beyond.

Sorry to those that couldn't see during the display, it literally couldn't be helped.
Agree! Massive respect to @TBV_Dan and @Medway Blue especially, for how much prep and effort went on during the week - especially with navigating all of the challenges, at one point there was a rolling teams chat with solopress (who also deserve massive credit) that went on 7 hours. Truly a gigantic effort and shift that was well executed and poignant.

I suppose it also depends on who it's aimed at. Given it was only up whilst the players came onto the pitch you can assume it was meant for them. It would have looked amazing from their perspective.
Pleased to share that this was the feedback from GSM. Also it has allowed an important part of history to be represented, shared and discovered by thousands outside of the Southend sphere, a proud moment for all and whilst frustrating to lose sightlines, it literally couldn’t have happened without all those fans with cards and behind the goal, which to me makes it even more special.

It really was a great effort. I think it meant a lot to the people of this club and town and hopefully all the players too.

Did anyone really see that this is where Southend would be 12 months ago? Was a great tifo to reflect that struggle. #NeverGiveUp
