Wembley tickets

I've finally given up getting a ticket and feel absolutely gutted. My dad is 77 and wanted a big day out again after years of despair - but the logistics of getting there were already stacking out even before this utter debacle. Has just become impossible and so sad.

For years the premiership have been lambasted for their lack of care and support of lower league football. Their greed has been seen as the root of all problems. But have to be honest - when the people running the highest step of non-league football don't fight for the rights of the non-league clubs then it's no surprise that clubs are struggling. To think what the national league put our club and fans through even when we were trying to get rid of our previous chairman - points deductions, embargoes, bonds - and now this wembley farce? That's not to mention the ridiculous TV deal which withdrew any kind of general public watching the teams. Grass roots football needs to look closer at its own bodies and structure before blaming the greedy premiership for it's problems.

I'm praying my absence is a sign for a great win and we can get out of this god forsaken league and pity those clubs left who will be fighting for existence without any support.

And fair play to our club who have clearly been working overtime to try and help our fans - my goodness we have fantastic ownership now. They deserve success as does Kevin and the boys. Come on Southend - I will be cheering you on from Devon with everything I've got.

Look on the previous page mate, there were some being offered there.

Edit: this thread too. https://www.shrimperzone.com/forums...ead-play-off-final.122290/page-6#post-2873199

Keep the faith, there are still tickets floating around. It’s only Tuesday too, I would expect people to drop out before Sunday, for whatever reason. Just keep checking the threads and be ready to send PM’s to those selling.

I’m still a bit bleary eyed (it’s only 4.30am). Is there any indication that this additional coach allocation is final or are discussions still going on please?

Not going to criticise the Club who have jumped through hoops to line up 150 coaches but I wonder if they considered running any from central London instead of Essex.... Allowing Exiles to hop on a few coaches from Kings Cross or even Liverpool Street might have been more tempting than making them trek back to SS2.

I guess discussions will go on, but at this stage of proceedings it’s looking increasingly likely fans will have to utilise the coach package to secure a ticket (unless they buy resale tickets)

I believe Wembley and TfL will have done all they can to help (afterall, they stand to earn out of it, so why wouldn’t they?)

NL aren’t going to do a thing about this situation though. In fact, their only contribution since this debacle unfolded, was to release a condescending email that attempted to shift the blame away from themselves.

The ones who are holding up any further tickets being released without coaches, is likely Brent Council, IMHO.

We've already sold 23,900. With an additional 3,590 coach packages onsale at 8:30pm. Takes us to 27,490 If we sell-out of this extra allocation, which is very unlikely.
I would think if another 10k we after tickets and really want to go, and there being no other way, then they will go with the coach. So I assume a number will be taken up- many would be waiting to make sure the ticket only option wasn’t going to happen
Shameful situation

In the end if it H&S it’s Brent Council (and therefore a man with a beard and a knitted cardigan and his computer says no)

This is all down to National League! They knew a year ago why didn't they swap grounds? Tottenham's, Arsenal's or Even West Ham would have catered for needs

Stating the obvious, but they’re completely inept.

No way this situation happens with the EFL or Prem bosses.

That being said, I’m not sure what they can do at this stage? They hold no power over Brent Council or TfL & they don’t have enough say in any real football circles (again, totally and utterly inept) to change what’s happening. They had their chance to do that months ago, but banked on a low attendance final at the pinnacle of English Stadiums, rather than lose face and settle for something smaller.

It’s thanks to the fans and some big media voices which we’ve even managed to get this far, as they’d have left it at 17,500 allocation.

I don’t know, but I would assume to get more tickets released now (without coach packages) Brent council need to give Wembley the go ahead to do so. And they won’t do that unless TfL can guarantee X amount of additional resources. Just my guess

I would imagine if these coach allocations sell and if we can source more coaches then more could be made available. Imho 2 big "ifs" though

The only other way I can see more coming available is if Oldham decide they have unneeded allocations that can somehow be released to us?

Looks like this is it, especially considering there's still lots available.
There’s not enough adjectives and swear words to describe how I feel this morning (and I have a ticket). I don’t care if this is only going out on DAZN, they need to feel the full force of our contempt vocally on Sunday.

The NL ‘solution’ is possibly the worst of any additional allocation fixes they could have created. This is NOT Millwall West Ham. Bar the odd alcohol fuelled handbags there’s no crowd issues. Solution put more coaches on but we don’t have enough spaces to park them. For ****s sake.

I am utterly distraught to think what this means to fellow fans like me (maybe not nutty like me) potential fans, kids etc etc. There MUST be something left we can do to get this into the mainstream once and for all.

And the NL wiki needs fixing. Head office fortunately for them is in Birmingham

Notable former English Football League clubs that compete in the National League include: Forest Green Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Rochdale, Yeovil Town, Hartlepool United, Scunthorpe United and Sutton United. The longest tenured team currently competing in the National League is Eastleigh, who have been competing in the National League since 2014–15.

I’d rather have missed out on a ticket with the game being held at a sold out smaller venue than watching a half empty stadium not being able to attend - that’s the gutting part.

Either way while angry, I’m at peace with my decision. I’ve had the chance to see many a thrilling game with the Blues, so it’s good there will be many new ones experiencing their first big game and hopefully get the bug to continue!

Hopefully a chant to protest the National League can be co-ordinated with Oldham Fans and national sports news bring it to the forefront once more and put pressure on the National League to up its game.
