I fully acknowledge Reid has got the ability to cause us problems but I still don’t think we should be the ones to tailor our formation to counter him. We’re the team chasing playoffs at home infront of 9000+ fans we should stick to 4-3-3 and go at them, make them change for us!

But the 4-3-3 hasn't worked. Bonne was stuck out wide and wasn't in the box in the previous home matches. We didn't have anyone in the box.

The 3-5-2 worked perfectly well in the previous match and allowed 2 strikers to be in the box. It also meant we had natural width on both flanks. If you notice on Walker's goal, Gus is right behind him ready to score as well. He wasn't doing that in the 4-3-3.

Exactly- playing an extra defender, Spector that defender is Gus, makes no sense to me. As much as some claim it’s 532 it’s clearly 352- Gus is not a RB and for all the money on earth Bridge (or Parillon) aren’t LBs..
352 is the formation that provides most flexibility and allows two forwards to play of each other down the middle. Yes 352 will work even better with some additions even more suited to the system and who add more quality in the final third.

I think 352 is best provided KAF and LP are playing. They are the only central midfielders who have the sense to get into the attacking areas quickly. This means that we would have those two plus the two strikers and of course GSM arriving in the penalty area. This is far better than relying on having Husin and Moreton getting into the danger areas. Those two pose very little goalscoring threat.

Let’s be honest we could have played Hayes up top and would have beat that Ebbsfleet side.

I think against better opposition we need to play with a higher intensity and chance creation than what we currently do, 4 goals against Ebbsfleet isn’t proof our formation works (2 goals in 450 minutes of open play prior to that). I agree Bonne needs to learn to stay central but with the return of Kendall I don’t see why we can’t do that?

But we played 4-3-3 in the games before Ebbsfleet and it wasn't working. It made our forwards go wide. The 3-5-2 allows us to have two forwards playing centrally, two wide players who keep their width and can make late runs into the box (it's where Gus has got his goals from) and allows one of the midfields to get into the box. That's 5 attackers in total. It's a misconception that 3-5-2 is negative or not attacking. It all hinges on the players that are in the side.

I'm all for that too. Whether it's a 343 or 433 or whatever, id rather we let them worry about us.

Wasn’t this meant to be a dedicated “flag day”

What happened to that?

Would have been good to see the South Upper draped in flags like that emotional day v Bristol City.
Game before last, Basildon Shrimper had his flag hanging but was told to take it down because it was covering the advertising even though it has we finance any car right across the stand!

I tend to disagree on that Coker also gets into attacking positions quickly ,i think his goal scoring record would prove that ,what did he get 8 goals last season and i think so far 4 this in an interupted season through injury etc . I think barring and injuries it ill be same as Easter Monday.

Coker got his 6th of the season which isn't bad considering how many games he has missed and how many he's been on the bench for whilst not being match fit. He's still only 22 as well.

I’ve seen a few criticising Coker but I think he played well v Ebbsfleet. People are too quick to write off a young player. He’s got a great shot on him he just needs a run of games and a dose of confidence.
